Headline: The Dragon Guard I
Message: The great Coordinator Takashi Kurita has announced the founding of the Dragon Guard. The newly formed Brigade consists of sixteen regiments and is commanded by tai-sho Isoroko Kurita. Including both, infantry and tank regiments, the main purpose is the defending of the Draconis Combine, as the name "Guard" let us asume. While the homeworld of the brigade is in fact Luthien, it was the wish of our great Coordinator that the rectruitment was done troughout the Combine, bringing a united will to every corner of our great realm. A recruitment facility can be found in every military district. Enlist now and protect our borders in the name of the Dragon.

" And now we are connected to our reporter Hinata Kato at the Galdeon Recruitment Center. "Miss Kato, how would you describe the ongoing recruitment?"
A woman in traditional clothing comes into sight, behind her endless perfect lines of individuells, men and women.
" Dear audience, what you see behind me is the endless line of recruits for the newly founded Dragon Guard. Simillary sightings could be made in all recruitment centers throughout the Combine. The word of our great coordinator was heared and is answered by the roar of thousands and tenthousands. " In the background an armed trooper is seen, silently shouting something like "Back into the line!"
Yet, that doesn't stop the newsspeaker from going on.
" We heard, that by the rules of the new bushido, women are also accepted by the Guard. "
" This is correct. Itis clearly a breaking with the traditional course but in the chest of all citizens, there beats a heart for the same nation... and it is this fire, which drives this brave recruits. Yet, the guard is the only military institution which accepts wom... "
The picture is suddenly cut of, the newsspeaker turns the face back to the camera
" Thank you, for your report Miss Kato and thank you for your attention. In this great days the combine looks into a bright future of unity and safety, leaded by the strong and fair hand of our honourable coordinator. Only one question remains: Do you fight, by his side? For enlisting visit one of the following recruitment stations: "

Cameras where off, Ryoichi straight face fell off and turned deep red. "What's up with this stupid cunt? Is she crazy? " His assistant was running towards him quickly bowing her head and reaching a cup of tea. " Please, Ryoichi-sama keep calm, your blood press..." She was cut of with a quick gesture of his hand. " Say that dumb bitch that she shall read her lines. If she isn't able to read she can quit. " He stood up and walked to his dressing room. Sweat was running down his face as he took a deep breath in the dark room. His collaegue was playing with their honour, their career and their life. "My my, what an outbreak... " Ryoichis blood was freezing in an instant. "I... I am terrible sorry. "

Newly promoted Sho-sho Asano stepped out of the regimental command post while his officers worked their way through a planetary assault on the strategic simulator. The leadership of the 1st Genyosha regiment was performing very well. They had been working on the simulator for over 10 hours now, and the fatigue was beginning to show. No real mistakes yet, but emotions were starting to show. Had they not just completed objectives 1 through 4 of the exercise, Sho-sho Asano would have kept them in the simulator.
He spoke on the command frequency "Objective 4 has been taken. I'm calling an end to phase 1 of operation Blue Skye. The 1st Genyosha will stand down for the night." Battalion commanders passed the order along to the company commanders and they in turn to their lance commanders. In another building nearby, the lance commanders gave the orders for their mech pilots to "shut down" their "mechs." The simulators in this room were a combination of mech simulator and a strategic simulator. This gave the mid-rank officers experience in how to handle their own mech during a field mission, while maintaining control of their unit at the same time. The battalion and regimental command staffs were in adjoining rooms, that simulated the standard field mobile command units.
A young man stood patiently next to him. As Sho-sho passed the young officer, "Tai-i Kurita, please see me in my office." Tai-i Kurita quietly followed Sho-sho Asano's brisk pace. As he sat down at his desk and check the latest reports, the young Tai-i stood at attention in the center of the room. "You disagree with the tactics used Tai-i Kurita?" Tai-i Kurita's body language and occasionally nervous sighs and throat clears had made his feelings very obvious. "Permission to speak freely Sho-sho Asano." Asano noticed that Tai-i Kurita was fine with some parts of the new Bushido code being instituted by his family member and heir. "Granted."
"Do you not think that the companies were given too much flexibility in carrying out their missions? While with the 2nd Sword of Light and while at the Academy we were always dril-" Asano interrupted him. "-led to color within the lines Tai-i?That got us the results of the 4th War. These new directives got us the results of the War of 3039. Which results were more favorable to the DCMS?" Tai-i Kurita nodded and started to form his next sentence, but Asano cut him off again. "Your scores at the Academy were noteworthy and your service record with the 2nd was honorable as well. However, Gunji-no-Kanrei Kurita assigned you to my staff because you are not ready for an independent command position. You obey and follow more than you see and react. You need to learn to balance the two. We want our commanders to obey, yes... but also to see and respond to the situation at hand. The results have proven Gunji-no-Kanrei correct and we will follow his lead." Asano stared the younger Kurita in the eyes while he spoke and then turned back to his reports. Tai-i Kurita understood that their conversation was at an end. "I will fulfill my duty Sho-sho." He bowed sharply and left the room.
Just as Tai-i Kurita's father, Tia-sho (Isoruko) Kurita, had learned, a blend of the old regime's ideas and the up and coming regime's (Theodore's new directives) ideas had turned the fortunes of the DCMS from faltering to ascending. Gunji-no-Kanrei was not expecting a complete new style of command structure and leadership, but more flexibility had to be forced into the regiments. Rotating the best young officers into staff positions with the Genyosha and the Ryuken regiments had proven to be a very efficient way of indoctrinating the DCMS. Tai-i Kurita will just take a little longer to come around, but he will stay were he is until he does, Kurita or not.
Gunji-no-Kanrei Kurita had issued orders for the number of exercises to be doubled this quarter. The last time that happened, the war of 3039 followed. Asano knew better than to ponder on the unknowns though. He would be told what to do when it was time for him to know, that always was the DCMS way and it was not going to change with Gunji-no-Kanrei Kurita either.

The Red Duke once again noticed a lack of any communiques coming from the FRR. He had always doubted the creation of the FRR. It was Theodore's idea. The Duke was adept at the power game in the DC. Even the fact that his son was killed as a "ronin" did not cost him his position as Warlord of the Alshain Military District. He was considered "efficient" in his leadership (no revolts and no issues with collecting the income that the DC so needed). His gift of a copy of the Helm Memory Core had not hurt his standing either. He would be patient and play his part. If the current situation continued, he would have a card to play soon...

Luthien, Draconis Combine
Theodore Kurita and his father where staying on a balcony of the Unity Palace, right above the same named Unity Square overseeing a military parade of the new formed Dragon Guard. 19 small formations of the Regiments were passing by, as the main forces were allready stationed in there garrisons and the Honour Guard of the Otomo Regiment and the Sword of Light were also present. It was a main event and of course the main purpose was the Propaganda.
Takashi Kurita sighed as the first of seven tank regiments began to pass by. He had accepted that his son has become the driving power of the combine, but his new "bushido" and now this "Dragon Guard" were quite something to chew at.
" Are you sure about this?"
" Yes father, the Dragon Guard is an all defensive force. Recruited out of all citizens of the Combine. Giving a feeling of unity to them. This is only one step in the forgeing of a nation wide bond. We can't allow that something like Rasalhague happens again. This is also why I suggested Isoruko as their tai-sho. He may not be fitted to rule in case of our both death, but he is calm and wise and more than suited for this task. "
The coordinator looked at his son, he was right, the separation of Rasalhague was tactic, not more, but would the bond have been stronger, it maybe could have been avoided. Silenty a officer came in front of the two, bowing his head, it was time and the coordinator stepped forward and promoted Isoruko Kurita to the rank of tai-sho and to the commander of the Dragon Guard.
What a great day for the combine.

Daisuke Isu had just arrived on Alshain and allready gave the recruits the hardest time of their life. He had served in the Genyosha under Asano and Yorinaga and was as loyal and fanatical as them. It was his aunt Jasmine Isu which brought to him the will of the coordinator. The Alshain Regulars where in a dire need of an elite force, an example for the new way and the new era the coordinator and the heir had in mind. Training was everything, mental and physical. Yet especially the indotrination was a problem, it was no secret that the alshains had a mostly questionable moral towards the coordinator unlike himself. The tai-sa knew, that the mobbing of the other regiments recruits will raise their fire as a unit... Unity... so often he had heard this word since the new year, it was undoubtly the upcoming of an era. He just had to be watchfull that his sho-sho won't backstab him.
" Is that all what you are capable of? I want a solution from you and your team recruit Yuuki!"

In a small cube, on of dozens, all in the same pale grey colour was Ryota sitting, sorting out the incoming informations. " Promoted sho-sho Asano... no, Red duke...no, Female recruit for mech.... no" he shook his head. New times were coming fast over the Combine, faster than the old generation could handle and even the young ones had to take a deep breath to hold up. "Breakthrough in civillian tech .... announcing of new control worlds and an educational program were coming. It also seemed that the lady Isu was behind it. " He nooded and put the report in the left pile, very good material. Anything else here? Nearly automated he took the next report and read.
The first Sword of Light has left the Weisau system for an unknown target. No further information were given.
" To short for a report, " he said silently and want to put it on the right pile. " They are doing a maneuver in the border regions to the OWA and the FS. You may want to note this and announce it at the right time." Ryota held still, then nodded, he didn't look up "It will be my honour to do so." Then he put a delay stamp on the report and put it on the left pile.
He read on, report after report. Hour after hour. In the combine, working days were long.
At this evening, Ryoichi was sitting at his table, ready to read the news.
" Good evening. " With a all too familliar headbowing he started his show, anouncing the news. In a different building Ryota shred the reports of the right pile, leaving the studios for his small flat and his family.

The Unity palace spokesman Ajashi Katoru has announced that our great Coordinator, Takashi Kurita, will start a new educational program with the beginning of the next school year. The reconstruction of the educational system is a neccesity to secure the wise and noble traditions, without staying behind our enemys. The flower of the realm said to this matter: " The children are the future of our great realm. ""
" Furthermore, the coordinator announced that Luthien and the sorounding systems will become the prefecture Chatham which will be also a military and political district. The white Lotus district, ... "

" It was announced that severall forces throughout the Combine have received marching order and are preparing to leave their systems. Yet, it wasn't communicated were they are headed. To the question wether this is a measure to the latest conflicts between the Cappelan Confederation and the Federated Suns it was said that these are unrelated. Rumors say that it might be a measure to the unknown location of the First Sword of Light. "
He then switched his head back to camera 1
" Furthermore, our great Coordinator Takashi Kurita has assigned Markus Kurita for a diplomatic mission in the Free Rasalhague Repuplic. However, the cousin of our great Coordinator wasn't reachable for a commentary. "

Many famous man and women visit this event like the head of the famous hayashi house, lady Akane, which has the honour to follow a long family tradition of diplomats in the Combine. "
A young girl is seen on the screen, likely younger than 20, wearing traditional clothes and is tightly secured by a good dozen of body guards. " Lady Hayashi, how do you think about this years contest? " The girl turned her head to the camera, making a step forward and formly bowing her head, she spoke in a clear voice " It is, as always, a great pleasure to be her, " as she spoke on, something walked by that looked like a 2,5m high mechanical Samurai. The girls eye gazed upon him, turning around, crossing her arms before hear chest making fists but leave the small finger straight and growling in a deep voice. "Muahaha Kokoru, you will never defeat me." In this moment, the Samurai did the same pose, and the two began to laugh insanely while it could clearly be seen that one of the bodyguards was facepalming himself. While a other started... Quickly the camera shut down and Ryiochi continued as if nothing happend. "What youthful spirit... "

Takashi Kurita was sitting in his office, sighing... it was a long day and there are so many things to arrange. Then a shadow was showing behind the paper wall. Silently waiting and clearly bowing. "You may enter" he said. The door opened automatically, A servant, nervously shaking was pressing his face to the ground. Takashi raised an eyebrow "Speak".
"My great Coordinator. INN... The anouncement was sent."
His eyes became small slits.
"What announcement you speak of?"
The shaking became stronger.
"Start TV-Channel INN, " spoke Takashi with a commanding voice. A wooden plate sunk into the ground and a screen turned on. Takashi was seeing the Genyosha commercial and his face became furious.
" Inform the DCMS, we have a leak in Nation TV. Arrest everybody, interrogate them, if I don't have answers with the end of the day, executions will follow. Form an investigation team on Nwe Samarkand. I want answers... now. "
"Yes my lord Coordinator. " The servant wanted to close the door, but Takashi spoke on

"and now, for the weather, brought to us by Miss Fujimoto, " said Ryiochi. Camera 4 was turned on. The women was starting to give the weather forecast for Luthien as suddenly masked man stormed the studio. Screams could be heared and even some shots were fired and Ryiochis voice could be heared in the background "I have done no..." then a screen popped up... Technical difficulties... The break seemed endless but actually it wasn't much more time than 5 minutes.
" Good evening, my name is Aiko Mori and I am the new face of our news programm." The table, she was sitting at had some burnmarks. " And I am very proud to announce you that the new senior chef of N-TV is Katsuo Wakahisa. He was promoted today to this honourable position. "
She turned her face to camera 2
" Furthermore, news reaches us that the DCMS is right now interrogating traitors here on Luthien and further arrest are made on New Samarkand. Officer Itsuki Ueda assured that results will be received within the next 4 hours."

Message: The sending startet with the Coordinator himself, standing on a podest, a read carpet leading to him, numerous samurai to both sides of it, building an alley of honour. Behind the coordinator the flag of the Combine was flying, sided by two flamming shallow bowls, the fire reaching near under the ceiling. Then Takashi Kurita began to speak: "With great interest we follow the latest events in the inner sphere. The Combine appreciates the freeing of the occupied realms of the Capellan Confederation. The nearly unresisting behaviour of civilians as of the military forces of the Federated Suns prove of the rightoutness of this movement, and the will of the folk homecoming to the arms of Sian. However, whenever a sword is drawn and interest clash, blood is spilled and we want to ask the Federated Suns, in all modesty, not to spill to much of the Capellan Blood, as this will truly soil their honour. "

Sho-sho Asano was a busy man. As brigade commander of the Genyosha Regiments and a confidant of Theodore Kurita, he wore many hats. Along with the usual strategic planning sessions with Theodore and his staff, and managing his own brigade, he now had the responsibility of starting up a new mech regiment. Not only was it a newly raised regiment, it was to be the first of it's kind in Intersphere (let alone the DCMS).
Drilling and preparing established regiments, even if they were found lacking, and starting up a regiment from scratch, were two completely different undertakings. Luckily he was able to draw some experienced officers and enlisted personnel from the "unnamed" (a.k.a. Ghost) regiments. Finding qualified techs and administrative personnel had not been an issue. Finding enough high ranked enlisted personnel and lower level officers, however, was a challenge. As for the command staff, this too was not easy. There were some higher ranking female officers that qualified for these positions, but most had either a different demeanor than Asano was looking for or were not of enough honor. This was not going to be just a female only regiment, it was going to be a Genyosha regiment 1st and an all female regiment 2nd.
Contingency plans were always being updated and refreshed. He did get word from Theodore's staff that a renewed plan, for the invasion of the FRR and or an offensive to take the FRR capital and regional capitals, was no longer a priority. Renewing the plans for a quick strike on Skye, an invasion of the Skye District, and the usual options vs. the FS.
Rumors swirled of treason at some level somewhere. Failed or successful negotiations with almost any Intersphere power... To many many maybes and variables to keep track of. Asano was a seasoned DCMS officer. He cared not for upper level power plays and rumors, he had a job to do and that was more than enough to keep him occupied.

Dozens of Jumpships were waiting for the flight order at the OWA borders, every one had a different target, from here to Alpheratz and even beyond. Everything was planned and organized way before, uncountable amounts of shuttles transported the last freight upon the ships. The transmissions of them filling the empty void surrounding them. Then the jumps were engaged. Every world between the DC Border and Alpheratz received information that a ship of the Combines multiple transport companies was entering their system.

Aiko Mori was sitting at her table, reading the newest informations from the Combine. " The coodinator has announced the female mech warrior program currently running in the Genyosha headquarters. The news, that was spread by traitors, and contained an unfinished enlistment-call that hit the ears of millions before it was authorized. The test program of the Genyosha#3, which is actually running, will be overwatched closely, and shall the results be satisfying may influence further steps and programs for the Dragon Guard. "

Right now, dozens of jumpships are shipping goods, mainly goods of food to the starving worlds of the OWA. " Pictures are shown of the beginning unloading on various systems. The foods, handed to the people by sligtly armed Dragon Guard soldiers, which ensure security arround the drop points. Some pictures were shown of national politicans shaking the hands of DC-represantatives.

As soon as rumors of the Skye rebellion started to be reported, Sho-sho Asano gave word to his brigade to be at the ready. He expected to be ordered to "full alert" status soon. A few hours later, word came from Gunji-no-Kanrei's HQ to do exactly that. It was as normal as buttoning up your shirt to his DCMS troops. The DCMS was always on edge. The need to protect their honor and their necks kept all in line and focused.
"Glad i just reworked our contingency plans for Skye and the Skye District. We might need them sooner than later" thought Asano. He had no emotional attachment to this new rebellion. They might see themselves as Skye first and Lyran second, but Asaso had fought plenty of them in his career and they had been Lyran first then...
He gave a little thought to how things might go if ordered to support the rebellion. "If it comes to be, then may we 'liberate' Skye with honor. Either way, Lyran blood will be spilled." Then he closed it out and focused on his orders and to do lists.

The Red Duke wondered. Would the rebellion stay contained to just Skye, or would it flare up across the Sky District as it had in the past. He had not (yet) heard of any communications from the rebels. Maybe the Dieron Military District and/or Luthien had and the information had not reached him yet. Once information finally reached the upper echelons of the DC, it passed along to all who needed to know in a heart beat. "So, most likely, we are still not in contact with them..."

Somewhere in the Combine a young boy saluted in front of a picture at the small family shrine in the corner of the room. A short prayer followed while a single incense stick was glowing. After the short ceremony he looked outside the window of the living room... his class comrades were playing ball, but there was no such thing for Osamu. After school, he had to go to work. He went outside, respectfully greeting his mother and leaving. As every day he went down the street, crossed it, and set his way forward to his workplace... As he entered the building by once more crossing a dirty street he walked by a waepon rack, holding some Sasumatas. He entered the office of his superior and reported for duty.
Osamus father was a DCMS soldier, assigned to police duty as it was common on many Combine worlds. His superior was a local samurai. His father died as he was shot down by a robber and his son inherit his position. It is Osamu who earns the little money for his family, but he is proud. Of course he would like to play or learn or draw but this way he might go to a military academy in a few years, study with the best. Today, he had to clean the boots of all men, and every day in the morning he is assigned as crossing guard. He has to learn about the police duty and the law and is sometimes on patrol on large festivals, helping the people out who are lost. In school, he doesn't wear the school uniform, but the DCMS uniform and he is the default choice for the prefect position in class. A heavy weight lies on his shoulders, always... but it is his dream to follow the footsteps of his father and he isn't the only one, there are olders and younger kids too, one left this year for the academy...
When he got home, he found his mother crying in front of the family shrine, he huged her before he went upstairs and kissed his already sleeping little sister on the forehead. Then he went to bed, he has to get up early if he doesn't want to be late.

The prefect of Kesel was zipping tea when the messages from Skye reached him, well... he spit out quite a bit and surely the tea ceremony has to be cut off. He was going fast to his office while he thought about the whole situation. He was strictly against the giving up of the lyons thumb, he knew this would lead to disturbances but even he didn't expected this much aggression. He made a call for Benjamin... and Dieron HQ and asked for reinforcements while the DCMS troops readied themselves.
When Skye falls, Alphecca was next and then Kesel... and with a blink of an eye, his whole beautiful prefecture was in a civil war. But this was the ground of the Draconis Combine, he will not give in on the "will of the folk". His wife and his councellors tried to calm him. The Combine was not the agressor in this revolt. They were the benefactors that didn't reach an agreement. If any protestors start moving in his prefecture, he will be ready to take action and so not only the DCMS readied, but also the "friendly persuaders" the Civilian Police began their increased patrols through the streets, caring their police stunner visible for show... and the quite more often used riot-control-shotguns.

The Red Duke frowned. As much as he wanted to clap for the people of Skye, his first reaction was to fear a rebellion. As a Warlord of the DC, keeping his Military District in order was his prime responsibility. He called up his Minister of Security for an emergency meeting. He assumed that the Dieron and Benjamin Districts were also stepping up their alert and security levels. The Dragon could honorably handle an invasion, but to loose control to some rebels...
Regardless of the luck, or lack there of, involved on Skye, such an event was taken very seriously by the DCMS. It was not even sure yet that the rebellion would take control of Skye. The fact that they had survived this long and lashed out so violently, made the outcome irrelevant to the Duke. Things were boiling, hopefully Skye would calm down soon, one way or another.

The Red Duke was silent. He looked over at his security chief and the man knew he had to explain. "These three individuals proclaim to be Lyran infiltrators, here to start up rebellions..." The screen showed the three persons of interest.
The Duke could see that only the most barbaric forms of "reasoning" had been used by his security forces. "...and what does our Coordinator require us to do with 'persons of interest'?" The man went white while searching his mind for an explanation. "Exactly, they are to be turned over to the ISF or the O5P immediately. I now expect you to regain your lost honor..."
His security chief mumbled as he shuffled out of the room. The Duke turned to his deputy-chief of security. "Get these people to a medical center and contact ISF immediately." A shot was heard outside... "...and you are now my new head of security."
The Duke knew how the ISF (or the O5P for that matter) would handle these suspects. They would be treated well and then the interrogations would start. With the drugs, sensory manipulation, and the other tools they had available to them, the suspects would be released latter having not a clue as to what they might or might not have said and what, if anything, had happened to them. They would, however, be tracked and monitored for at least a few years. The ISF and O5P had plenty of resources to make sure that if these were real agents, they would find out more about anyone they came in contact with and if there was an organized network at work here.

With the situation on Skye "resolved", one would assume Sho-sho- Asano's days would return to normal. Instead the planning, alert levels, running of live fire exercises, and extra scrutiny by the security forces continued. Add to this the recent revelations that the Wolf's Dragoons and Snord's Irregulars were fully outfitted with the newest and latest technology. DCMS units had only be receiving word of new weapons and metal technology (to be incorporated into new designs or variants) for a few months, so the fact that there were units fully equipped with mechs more advanced than the DCMS had, was shocking. The average mech warrior was not concerned. It was just another way to gain more honor on the battlefield by destroying mechs deemed "superior" by others. However, the upper levels of the DCMS were nervous and there was more communication between the research facilities and the DCMS than there had been since the great rebuilding prior to the 3039 War.

Once more, pictures of marching troops reached the ether. A military parade was held on Luthien. The Unitiy Place was filled with thousands of people while the honor-formations of twelve regiments marched over. A military band was playing and Takashi Kurita was staying on a balkony, sorounded by the mechs and armed man of the Otomo.
First, a small honorformation of the First Sword of Light marched in, they turned right and stood in front of the Coordinator, while next to them the Inheritors of Light took position. Then the Coordinator began to speak: " Due, to the great deed you did to the Combine, i shall hereby rename you... First Sword of Light. From now on, you are not longer the ivory dragon... you shall be known, as the water dragon." For a moment there was silence, this must be a reference to the latest missions of the SoL. Yet, nobody full understands it, as their last assignment was shrouded in mistery. But there was a group of mercs somewhere in the space, that will get the reference. The royal mechs and their pilots bowed down to the Coordinator while the masses cheered. Then Takashi Kurita continued to the Inheritors: " You are the childs of the First Sword of Light, inheritors of their will, their tradition and their armory. So you shall inheritate their title... ivory dragon and you shall be known, as the Ninth Sword of Light." Ones more, his words were followed by exultation of the masses.
Then Takashi stepped back from the speech pult, the formations turned left and marched on.
Then a very long element of the parade came. Nine full regiments of the newly formed Lotus Regulars marched by, one of them was a mech formations and two tank regiments. The rest.... infantry. The remarkable thing about the Lotus Regulars was however not their composition out of a huge amount of infantry, it was the fact that every regiment of the Regulars was equipped with Star League era armory. Second remarkable thing was, that the Lotus regular regimentsnumbers were between 100 and 135... it was during one of this closeups that the Coordinator pronounced that the 100st Lotus Regulars, the first Mech regiment of the Brigade, are in fact the 100st mech regiment in service to the Combine.Third remarkable thing was, the second time in one year, the Combine mobilized an army, large enough to conquer a smaller nation. First the dragon guard, now the Lotus Regulars.
Then the last formation marched in, a small honor guard of the newly founded 3#Genyosha the "Womans First and Only". Tai-sa Yuuki Hadono was piloting her heavy mech down the boulevard, always messuring with her eyes the position of her girls. Only a perfection was acceptable. Most of her pilots were recruited from the Dragon Guard, only a few made it from the civilians and even fewer came from the high houses. Hadono had choosen at least one of every social group to take place in this parade. While it could not be seen by the civilians, it was a sign for everyone high enough to read the records. She liked symbolizm, and so it was no surprise that she had tatooed her right arm, with the name of every founding pilot of the Genyosha#3. In a perfect line the formation reached the unity palace balkony, the Coordinator right before them. A slight squeel of joy passed through the internal comm, comming from Chikako "Chika" Fujioka. "Keep it down Chika. We don't want to mess this up on the first day. "O'right tai-sa-chan. " Hadono rolled her eyes. Fujioka was the first official mech-pilot-fangirl of the Combine. While it was not as uncommon as thought, that a young womans dreamed of having their way with the Kuritas elite, Fujioka took it to a whole new level. So the formation turned to their right in front of the coordinator and the tai-sa left the mech to stand in person before the balkony and the long stair chase that lead up to the Coordinator. Still, heavily guarded by the Otomo. Then Takashi began his speech... about duty, honor, and the challenges that awaited them in the future...

Aiko Mori was bringing her daily program to the Draconis Combine. This time, the Draconian Carritative Program was presented. "It is my pleasure to welcome Hinata Isu, from New Samarkand to our Studio. Lady Isu, you are the represantative person of the DCP or its more common name 'Caring Dragon'. What can you tell us about it?"
" Well, I am very honoured to be chosen for such a task. Since this month, I am not only the Represantative but also the Manager of the program. I was promoted by the Coordinator this week, which is the reason I am on Luthien. "
"Congratulations, lady Isu. The DCP was originally thought as a program to feed the starving ARAR nation. What changed? "
" This movement started as a gesture of the noble houses of the Combine, donating to the ones in need and was initiated by Gunji-no-Kanrei Theodore Kurita. However we changed now the structure of the program and with the approval of our great Coordinator it will become a own organization within the Pillar of Teak. "
"Will this influence the Draconian civillians or the ARAR population by any means?"
"It will not influence them. Every civillian of the Combine will have everything he needs. This is the highest priority of the Pillar of Teak. Also, it will not influence the population of the ARAR. We will see for their needs with the overproduction of foods the Combine has. The thing that changes is our founding, as we now receive a steady budget from the Pillar of Jade. Furthermore: Theodore Kurita wished for a cross inner sphere carritative program. The DCP might answer calls from the whole inner sphere, regardless of the nationality. "
" This will surely silence the calls that this program is just a hidden invasion of the ARAR. "
"Whoever said such a thing, dishonors himself. The Draconis Combine is the most advanced and generous power in the inner sphere, brightening the future for billions."
" You surely are right, lady Isu. What will be the next target of the DCP?"
" We will probably send help to the worlds between the Capellan Confederation and the Federated Suns. As many worlds are in dire need of goods until this conflict has settled. "
" What is your position in this conflict?"
" I have no position in this conflict and neither has the DCP a position. We are a carritative organization, we help everybody, regardless of nationality. "
" So you break with the long held grudges of the nations?"
" I have to,... I have not forgotten my ancestors dying in the battles of the past. But for my mission I have to look to the future. "
" I am sure this will bring you the respect of untold masses lady Isu. One last question: How do you plan to move through battlezones and conflict enclosed borders?"
" I will start negotiations with every power of the inner sphere, the organisation has its own jumpships and a small unarmed fleet. We will make arrangements for free-travel agreements and secure zones for our camps. "

" Stupid Mori bitch, " it was the former news-speaker Ryoichi saying these words... or better, what was left of him. Months he spent in prison and was under investigation. Justice had its own working in the Combine, if you pledged guilty, the system was merciful, if you pledged unguilty it was harsh. Yet, he wouldn't be the one blamed. He knew it was Aiko Mori who suspected him, what she didn't knew was that even he had some pride,... but was it pride... or the fear of the system that gave him the strenght to go through all this? It was fear,... fear for what happens to his family... In the end, he was spoken free, but his former position was gone, like for many others of the old Studio 3 crew, his boss and many more. Yet he was angry... angry on the person which tried to dishonor him and the traitor that costed him so much. Lifelong twisted propaganda made him think that these people are to blame not the system, not the golden pillar.

It is heavy weather here on Pesht, yet that didn't stop the ceremony. " Behind him a huge ComStar banner was flying in the wind. Buisnessman of the whole military district are anouncing their plans for departments and centers on Pesht. " He was hard to understand but the subtitles gave his words to the masses. " Is it true that this is part of the latest development plans of the Coordinator? " "Yes miss Mori..." ... bitch... "... a official message reached us that the Combine has made a contract with the ComStar for at least four more installments on Combine territory. This was also verrified by the newly promoted high-ambassador Akane Hayashi. She is also present right now and was given the honor of the first delve of spade. " Then the signal broke down, to harsh was the storm... Aiko Mori improvised with her sheets the rest of the report, but it was already clear... the Combine is getting a more dense HPG network.

Colorful lights, heavy rain, high skyline. Pesht was a dark place at this time of the year. Tropical weather brought tropical storms... not that this was something you wouldn't expect on such a planet. Peht was still a highly forested world but this didn't counted for its capitol city and more than ever since one company after another began to construct a office here. Through the masses a young woman was running with her umbrella, she reached a slim building and opened the door via keycard. A elevator took her to a high floor were a long corridor led her to her flat. Door after door went by only 2 or 3 meters between each... She opened it and entered her home. The flat was small the room she was standing in was kitchen, lobby in one with no more than 4 square meters one door lead in something described best as toilet-shower, with the shower base being also the toilet pan, there was no basin, for this there was the kitchen... Te next room had one small window and a desk was standing before it. To its left and right side there were 2 bunk beds... 8 People lived here, her whole family... she was so proud that they could effort a own flat of this size and jumped in her bed... it was her own personal space, consisting everything she owns... cloths, books and so on. By Draconian standards... they were upper middle class. She had a "good" life... full ensurance and a 12 hour work day, with a free weekend every two weeks...
Today she will meet with her friends going to a karaoke bar and drink some sake... she got a bonus for her hard work in the last months. She took out her tablet and opened a mail... It was a beautiful day in Yamashiro, both sun and the moon Chūai were standing on the bright blue sky above the continent Shimoji. Millions filled the streets as a big parade was heald. Confetti flying through the sky, and circus artists danced down the huge boulevard. Honor formations of ASF forces raced through the air, drawing beautiful bands of smoke in the sky above the city. Childs ran through the streets to get a better view on the parade, eating sweets they buyed at local stands only to be dazzled by the aerospace forces in the sky. What a great day for the Combine. Everything about this festival was sent through the Inner sphere via INN or N-TV. It was a big anouncement...
Theodore Kurita was making last arrangements to his traditional clothing, looking in the mirror to ones more think about this, he had no joice, not at this point of history. He didn't like the arrangement... but why? Was it because his father has done it? Or had it different reasons? It didn't matter. " My lord Kurita, you are awaited." He nooded and left the gaderobe.
Omiku Kurita was standing in a corridor, staring at a beautiful painting of her grandmother when she was dancing. It was this dance when her grandfather fell in love with her. She smiled, but only shortly. " Are you ready my dear?" " I am nervous..." "You don't have to, you are so well prepared, I know you can do it. " Tomoe hugged her daughter. Revealing her growing belly. "Wish me luck,..." Omiku wispered to her belly. " We both will, " her mother responded.
In a relatively silence cabinett Coordinator Takashi Kurita signed a contract. "With this, it is signed. " The other contractor smiled at him, wildly shaking the Coordinators hands. Dozen of fotos were taken this instant.
Sakade Ayame was adjusting her skirt before the camera turned on for the live-report, the camera man nooded and she began to speak: " Today a festival is held on New Samarkand to celebrate a great and memorable happening. President Neil Avellar form the Autonomic Republic of Alpheratz and Ramora has visited New Samarkand to sign the joining contract for the Draconis Combine. " While she spoke these words the Coordinator and the President gathered upon the balkony of the old regency palace to speak some short words about friendship, partnership, unity, honor, trust and the bright future and a lot of thanks were spoken to the citizens of the Combine who so willingly gave their food to the starving. Then the Coordinator stepped back... and looked to his side were Theodore was standing. The son and the father were glaring at each other. But then Theodore marched forward and spoke to the masses. " While these contract ensures every detail between the Draconis Combine and its new memberstate, it is my honor... and a personal pleasure to make another anouncement." Instantly he had the attention of everybody on the place. " I hereby anounce the engagement of my daughter Omiku Kurita and Mitchell Avellar. They shall marry when they are both of age to represent the bond between the Draconis Combine and the Autonomic Republic of Alpheratz and Ramora. " The masses cheered and screamede in excitement. And with this said, ones more the fifteen formations of the former Avellar ASF thundered above the place and confetti canons were fired. Omiku and Mitchell came forward, holding hands as a symbol. The 6 year old boy was really nervous while the 13 year old girl had seen a lot of festivals and puplic events by now. Then the highborn nobles returned to the inner of the palace and let the commoners have their festival. While the stunned Sakade Ayame needed a few seconds to gather and continue her report.
It was in the enclosed walls of the former capitol palace were a traditional ceremony took place. A dancing court was encircled by a table, one half decorated in the colours of the house Kurita and the other in the colours of house Avellar. In the middle the "couple" was sitting, next to them the fathers, their wifes and so on. Everything was tightly organized and the athmosphere was very formal. Such an engagement is, after all, more buisness than anything else. It was between two courses when Omiku stood up to do a traditional dance to honor the ceremonies. Mitchell was of course to young to appreciate such a thing and it was his father who had to ensure that he didn't stood up and began to dance also. It was up to Tomoe to ease the pressure in Theodores mind... sometimes he was exactly like his father... not that she dared to tell him that. So she started a chat about their stiff men with Rebecca deSanders who amused joined her. It was shortly after when both men raised an eyebrow and began to chat about the nonsense their wifes were talking. Neil Avellar insisted that it is called "a pie in the sky" in the ARAR.
For the first time the tension sunk and Theodore accepted it. It was once more his father who was to blame... not the Avellars and surely not their kids.... In the meantime, Mitchell has used the failing attention of his father, to join Omiku on the dance. Shocked silence and wide opened eyes from the servants followed, while Omiku stopped to dance and her insecure eyes wandered through the room. " It is tradition in the ARAR that the engaged couple dances together, " Neil said and Theodore just nodded. So the kids continoued their dance, which was clearly more chaos than anything else, with the burden and the weight of two Nations on their shoulders...

The full Shin Legion stood in the middle of the Genyosha and Sword of Light Regiments. More than thousand mechs have assembled on a great plane on Dieron. Surrounded by dozens of Dropships, this mighty asset centered arround Theodore Kurita who was preparing to hold a speech. At his sight, sho-sho Asano prepared for the words he wanted to say...he moved from Theodore's right to the podium.
"Men of the Sword of Light and Genyosha, and women of the 3rd Genyosha Regiment... You are the flower of the Cherry Tree that is the DCMS. You are the finest and sharpest minds and skills of our realm. Over the last 6 years, you have helped the Dragon regain much of it's honor lost in the 4th War. We have more work to do, but i know the Dragon can count on you, when your are summoned, to do or go beyond your duty."
"Gathered with us today is the honorable Shin Brigade. Having fled their realm, they came to us as Ronin. They were dishonored, lord-less, adrift... They have won our trust and they have honored the Dragon with their loyal service. I know i speak for all when i say that i would be proud to fight should to shoulder with our Shin Legion compatriots. I thank you all in the name of the Dragon for your service."
Said Asano followed by a military chapel, than Theodore Kurita stepped forward.
"Nonetheless, the Shin Brigade is standing for a reason before us... they will leave the DCMS. I hereby declare the whole Shin Brigade Ronin. They must leave the Combine and may never return. If they do so, they shall be hunted down and killed. Whoever swears us loyality does so for a lifetime. It was their service which allows me to recognize their leaving, but Ronin they are with the crossing of the borders, masterless and honorless since they leave service... alive. You fought well, you fought with honor, you fulfilled your duty as long as it lasted. You came from the Capellan Confederation, dishonored and masterless. While our realms are sepparate, I must not explain to you the oaths of a warrior, of a samurai. You know them all to well. So leave now and never return. "
It were harsh words, but so were the rules of the DCMS. Asano already said what they thought about the service of the Shin Brigade. The brigades sho-sho kneeled before him... the Kurita marched forward and ripped him of his colors and marks of duty, took away his sword and threw it to the ground. The former Capellan let it happen silently. At the end, he bowed down completly, thanking the Kurita, for his grace, for the service, they were allowed to do. Once more, the Shin Brigade was homeless. Once fled from Capellan territory and now expelled from Combine territory. Yet, that was all what he wanted...

He raised his head and wanted to give order to leave... when Theodore once more spoke on... " I hereby order the 10th and 11th Sword of Light to ensure, that you reach Capellan ground, by all means. I will not allow you to die somewhere else as by the hands of your old master. The man bowed down once more... he didn't expected this...

Tai-shu Michi Noketsuna looked at the two brigade commanders still in the room after the intelligence briefing. All three of the men had known more or less what the briefing was going to be about, and none were surprised by what they heard.
The Tai-shu, looked at the two Sho-sho. Sho-sho Asano knew the look and proceeded to speak. "Tai-shu Noketsuna, let me show you this..." and he pulled up an order form on the screen. "Most units are still either deployed or at a heightened state of readiness from the last Skye happening. This will bring our whole District up to full readiness. If a war is coming, we will be in position to meet it."
Tai-shu read the document quickly and nodded. Sho-sho Asano had gotten good at knowing what he was going to want. "Make sure we do not mention 'war footing' in the PR release. However, i want to be sure that if the Lyran comes across our border, that we will be ready to die with our armor on and sword at hand."
Sho-sho Asano smiled, slightly. He had learned the Tai-shu's ways quickly. It helped that his reputation preceded him. At this level of command, all knew of the Tai-shu's pessimism, his one mood (a combination of serious/gloomy), and his desire to be prepared. He had done great work for the DCMS during the '39 war. He might not be friendly, but that matters not when you are successful.
Tai-shu then nodded. "You may proceed with sending out these orders Sho-sho Asano. Dismissed."
As the two Sho-sho left, Michi thought about Asano. He had adjusted to his new position quickly and anticipated things well. He was well connected too. A bit too positive though... but Michi thought that about most commanders.
Out in the hall way, the XXXX Brigade Sho-sho turned to Asano. "Is he always that serious and pessimistic?" Asano smiled again, a broad smile this time. "Yes he is, but there are few more capable in all of the DCMS. Dieron is lucky to have him. He fears failure to such an extent that it seems to haunt him." Little did Asano know what really haunted Michi in the deep recesses of his mind...

Throughout the inner sphere
Throughout the inner sphere the Draconian Carritative Program began its work. Buildings were rent, structures raised and employes hired. It all started on the capital worlds, like Atreus or Sian and ended with strategic important ones. Hundreds of people, citizens, were receiving courses for their new jobs.
Shuttle pilotes, for instance received extra education on emergency maneuvers or how to fly in battlezones while medical staff or engineers got extra courses on how to deal with civilians or victims. Everything was strictly supervised. The Draconian note was all present and definetelly something new for the non-DC-citizens. Some left, because of this harsh tone but it was accepted on behalf of the DCP. For instance ever employee had to take multiple tests... of intelligence, physical fitness, psychological stability.
Next new thing was that DCP workers received multi-pass allowing them to freely travel between the signer-nations as long as they were on a assignment. Excluding a holiday once in a year, in which case the worker was allowed to use it freely for private purpose. It was clearly a extra added to make the program more interesting for the broad masses.
Chihiro Usaki was sitting in her office, looking through the records... "So we have 27 tripple A's from the FWL... 17 from the CC, 23 of the DC, 9 of the ARAR and 2 of Lexington and 9 from the Taurians. Well, still some places left open. But we can send out the first wave of invitations. "

"Apparently it means nothing. While it is a great doing by their researches that we have to acknowledge they managed to do nothing new. The Luthien Armorworks have already managed to bring functioning suits to production status and the Luthien Regulars, for instance, are already trained on the suits."
" So you mean, the Combine isn't behind the other nations when it comes to amory?"
" It actually seems that we are ahead, as we always be. The Combine has the largest budget on research, we made great arrangments with our allies and I personally think that the whole inner sphere will have this technology in no time."
"How does this come?"
" To get the advantages we have now, the Combine signed multiple contracts with many nations. We always proclaimed that the will of the Coordinator is that we are the leading researching nation. But we also said, that we will share the light of enlightment with our contractors. And by the draconian honor, we keep our promises."
" One last question doctor. What awaits the infantry men of the Combine?"
" The ability to rip appart a mech, face to face, with good chances for winning. "
" Does this mean the PAL systems are superior to the mech?"
" No, logically it is the mechs weapon systems that give it superior fire power. That will not change, but the armored infantryman can underrun the weapons of a mech, jump to the pilots face and literally cut him out of the cockpit. "
" Any further additions?"
" The Combine has already given the demilitarisized suits to the DCP and is training pilots from all signing nations for a special task force, which speciallizes in rescuing mech pilots. With the PAL running, enclosed pilots will finally see a chance of beeing freed. "
" Thank you for your time."
She turns her face to the camera
" Once more, the Combine is a way ahead on technological matters, proving to his allies as honorable as ever. We look forward to a great new infantry in the DCMS. All hail the Coordinator."

Tai-shu Michi Noketsuna shook his head. "So Theodore made it clear that the DC was not going to sit idly by and let the FS and the LC team up on the CC. Not your average IS reaction, but an expected one. The LC said that the DC does not care for peace..."
"Have we attacked anyone since the 4th Great War? No. We were attacked in 3039. The LC attacked the CC in the CC Reunification War with the FS. The LC, unprovoked, attacked the FWL... only to turn around and leave..."
"They are acting rash and unpredictable. Theodore and Takashi had both made it clear that we do not approve of the LC and the FS teaming up on the CC. This the CC's fight with the FS for reunification of the CC. To set right what the Fox did in the 4th Great War..."
Mischi had heard from the Red Duke, the offers the DC had made to the FRR and the LC not more than a few months ago. "We had offered peace. They stalled, changed the subject, and brought in new demands and even a disguised diplomat. The LC seems to want to drag the whole IS into the CC Renunification War..."
"Why? What have they to gain with the death of thousands, maybe millions? Do they just want an excuse to see if the LCS Invincible is fully functional and will not misjump again? Are they anxious to see two sides fighting in battle armor?"
"Well, it is out of my hands. Dieron survived the War of 3039, we will survive this as well..."

Sho-sho Asano was perplexed. "Was the Shin Legion arriving in the CC as one source reported, or where they stuck on Northwind, as another source reported?" He thought it had been settled when the LC had told the Shin Legion that they would be allowed to return to their realm, had the LC gone back on their word? "That would not surprise me with all we are hearing from the LC lately..."

With the first day of the last quarter of this year, DCP ship finally began to reach the warzones of the Inner sphere. Be they in the far west and south of the FWL or at the north end of the newly conquered territory of the Capellans.
Landing on the planets surface, first camps and military hospitals were raised, where the infrastructure was no longer present. Fullfilling the contract the noble houses had agreed to, for the better good.
DCP officials exchanged their informations with the FWLM or the CCAF and battle secure zones where found, at least for the moment.
It were most basic things they brought with them, food, a warm carpet, tents, water. But as different as the warfields and the planets they receid on, so were the needs of the population and as indifferent were the reactions of the civillians and soldiers alike. Some refused the helping hand, glaring at the aesculap-dragon on the soldier of the workers, other were jsut to eager to take it.

Tai-shu Michi Noketsuna was worried. This was the normal. Yet the news of the LC having the LCS Invincible had sent shock waves through the IS. He had quickly read up on the after action reports from the first 3 IS wars to find out about the true destructive power of such ships.
"The LC is threatening all those who oppose them with this weapon of mass destruction and two of my much needed regiments have not been heard from since the Lyran and Shin Legion troops had suddenly left Northwind." Dieron was on the front line with the LC and Michi started to worry more than usual.

As they drove around the space port, Asano could see a weight being lifted off of Tai-shu Michi Noketsuna. He wondered, was it the sight of the reinforcements or was it that Michi was reminiscing the days when mechs were what his days were all about? Asano could relate to the later, there was just something about being among such a density of mechs that made ones hair stand up with excitement.

Lady Isu it is with sadness that I must relay to you the First Prince's response to your request for our Realm's participation in your program simply put no. Such a program started or proposed as a response to Archon Katrina Steiner's original peace proposal to the Great Houses would have enjoyed greater support from the Prince. Sadly the proposition now must be weighed against the recent actions of your House which color it most darkly in his and my own eyes.
First the recent incident on Northwind in which the Combine used the deception of hiding DCMS units amongst the Shin Legion to land said troops unopposed under the false flag of the Legion's request to speak with the Highlander Elders. That the Shin Legion lied by omission is just icing on the cake of their naked attempt to incite the Highlander's into rebellion against the Fed Com.
Second the Combine's attempts at pressuring Archon Melissa Steiner-Davion into breaking the terms of the alliance between our realms while using this program to subsume the former Out World Alliance and place DCMS troops there to threaten even more of our border. Considering that there has been no armed conflict between us and the former Alliance since the Reunification War nor have they been overrun by pirates the only reason for the presence of Combine troops there is plain.
Third while you state the purpose of this program is solely to provide humanitarian aid the timing of it's launch coinciding with the Confederation's attack upon us strikes one as not a coincidence. Every ton of food and such you provide to them is something else the Confederation doesn't have to bother providing to it's own people themselves while they throw the rest of their resources into this new war. Also the Northwind subterfuge makes one wonder what or who else would be in those humanitarian missions coming into our Realm?
It may be that we will revisit this sometime in the future as your program develops and our concerns can be proven misplaced, however presently the cost of repelling the Confederation attack would as you yourself would expect, be requiring quite significant expenditure from within our own budget.

I thank you for bringing me the words of the First Prince. Yet, I must ask you what actions of my house did brought you to deny the program. I am sure, that neither you, or the First Prince mistook the house Isu for the house Kurita?
I also do not have any informations regarding Northwind or the Shin Legion, nor do I have to do something with the Draconian politic or goverment. I worked hard on a clear separation and I will work to further show and improve this. The DCP works apart of the Draconian goverment body, what was readable in all free media of the inner sphere. Apparently, I am also the wrong person to adress if you have political interrests concerning the ARAR. But I am the right person when it comes to our ongoing projects in this realm.
And excuse my words because i must ask you: Do you have ever have been to a battlefield? Of course food, medicine and shelter is needed, this is most common on all battlefields. While I do not know of the interrests and plans of the Confederation, I can ensure you: They do, at least care enough to contract us. I surely do not defend their war or their doing, but they opened their doors to make us able to reduce human casuallities. There is also no way that our sendings could in any way improve their ability of warfare. These words are a implifying that whe do smuggle goods of war, but I can ensure you, that we do not and that we double check our employees, from whichever nation they may come.
As the DCP is a humanitarian organisation, we ship our goods on a regular basis with other civillian contractors through different nations throughout the inner sphere and on no custom examination, were dangerous or dubious goods to be found.
For last, you might have misread the contract your Peeres... because the DCP is free of cost... you may donate but you must not. Your realm and its financial expenditure, are not of our concern to be functioning.

Coordinator Takashi Kurita was strolling through the Zen gardens of the forbidden City.
His son had been sent away preparing for the trip to Terra and while he was walking over centuries old stones, crossing one of the big gardens he was musing.
His last trip to Terra had brought a lot of hardship over the Inner Sphere.
The Commonwealth and the Suns had formed an alliance and thus encircled his nation.
Still, while most analysts hand warned him of an immediate attack, it had been the Confederacy who had had to bear the brutal onslaught.
His son, Theodere had proven to be the son he envisioned him to be, still there was a lot of honing his skills still to be done for one day he shall become the Coordinator of the Draconis Combine – but not today.
He knew that his dropship was waiting, that his son was waiting, that the elite of the diplomatic corps of his nation was in his entourage.
But he took his time, walked along the roses and lillies, hopped over a bashel of dasies and kept pacing through the gardens.
It was quiet here, and quietness was a trait he valued very highly.
Moving on, deeper into that one particular garden, Takashi thought about the events of the past years, about the formation of the Rasalhague republic and the error it may prove to have been.
Then the Avellars. Their Bargain had caught him off guard.
He had shaken a filthy hand, a hand recently spat into, but for some unknown reason this Avellar had proven to be a very... resourceful and creative person.
His ideas were unorthodox but usually led towards some interesting results.
Still, the uprisings in the ARAR and on New Samarkand of all places! enraged him.
Those who were not falling in line had to be crushed!
He came to a halt.
Right in front of him was a giant boulder. It looked polished, as if the monks had taken their due time to remove any parts that were not smooth or were standing out against the completed piece of art. But it was not. It was not completed... like an algorithm for his nation and the engagement in the ARAR... ah whom was he kidding... the OWA was just a replacement scenario for the Rasalhague Republic. This joke! But it shall return back into the warm embrace of the Combine rather sooner than later, he was sure.
He had to leave this place. Suddenly there was no calm, no resolve, no home left for him.
All Takashi was able to see were the tiny imperfections all around him:
A tiny marble in the wrong position, an almost visible footstep in the sand, a branch that had been twisted beyond its natural ability to recover and flowers that, he could swear, someone had steped onto.
He stopped. Something was odd. He knew his Zen master. The master of this garden had been caring for this gardens for over four decades and never hand such a dishonour happened to him.
His instincts took over and he drew his Katana. In his kimono he slowly turned and suddenly faced a band of white clothed assassins, wielding katanas, naginatas, yaris and one even had a kyu bow.
Shifting his stance he prepared for an attack, well knowing this would be his last day on Luthien.
His last thought was towards his graceful Omiku, the joy of far to few hours of playing. May the sun of Luthien smile her long and well.
Then one of the assassins let loose the first arrow and he leaped forward into the fray.

The doctor left the station.
This day was easily the worst of his life.
He had not been told who his patient was... all he knew was that a terrible sparring accident had happened.
His patient had been pretty old, a man well into his 50s he guessed, but well trained.
The state of his body was a shame, though. If this had been sparring, he was happy having chosen flower arrangement as his way of Zen.
Three arrows to the chest, one scratching the heart, severe bone and tissue damage on all limbs. It looked as if his patient had given up his left arm to parry multiple hits with swords and the like.
The right kneecap had been missing, they overall had to completely remove the left lower arm and the whole right leg.
He had lost a big amount of blood and they were pumping new blood into him almost as fast as it was running out of him again.
The loss of an ear, and most likely an eye from a slash across the face were his least of concerns...
For now the patient was stable... but in this condition he was not sure if he'd ever fully recover again...

Tai-sa Yuuki Hadono (commander of the 3rd Genyosha Regiment) methodically walked Sho-sho Asano through the Imbross III campaign. She knew that he was up on most of the details, but, when a campaign went as this one did, there were always answers needed. When she finished her report, the SecVidCom was silent for a while.
Sho-sho Asano had listened carefully and studied Yuuki's demeanor. "You know where the mistakes were make, this is good. But you and i both know that you had expected a poor result based on the orders given by the Dieron Regulars Tai-sa. He was the senior commander in charge of the campaign, but you could have and should have spoken up. The Genyosha is loyal directly to the Coordinator, but we are followers of the New Bushido code started by Theodore. In those situations, it is your duty to speak up and go on record with your thoughts. You must trust your training and instincts better next time."
"Your lack of confidence in yourself and your Genyosha training could have caused the Genyosha Brigade a great loss of honor. As it is, the campaign is a blemish on our record. You were right to step in and quickly negotiate for a return of the captured troops. In the end, our advantage in numbers saved us from a disastrous result. The Dieron Regular's Tai-sa's desire to finish off the Lyrans probably would have been successful in the end, but would have brought more loses and no more honor."
"I hope you will learn from this lesson. You will not be given many more of these chances... neither by me nor by the Lyrans."
"I understand Sho-sho," Yuuki replied. "Long live the Dragon" she almost yelled and then the SecVidCom went black.

6:00 am system time
The ARAR's observation team leader found them self roused from their sleep rather earlier then expected by one of Yuu's staff officers with an urgent request that they come to the main communications room with them ASAP. After getting dressed they were escorted to where the General along with a number of other AFFS officer were gathered around a briefing table, all of them looking very, disturbed.
Yuu looked up from a hand reader he'd been studying and waved them over "My apologies Gentlemen for the rude wake up but we need you to contact the Chairman and ask let him know I need to speak with him immediately in person , along with the commander of the 2nd Sword of Light as he is the highest ranking DCMS officer present."
The General took a long breath as he ran a hand , nervelessly thru his greying hair "We received an update on the supply convoy and it is on schedule for tomorrow, however there was quite a deal more then just a sit rep on that and I've been instructed to communicate this directly to your superiors, time is of the essence."

In the metal walls that were their quarters on the dropships, the alarm klaxons practically rang in their heads. On the different dropships, the two Tai-sas and Chairman Fernandez were quickly roused from their sleep and ran to their comm rooms as requested. There they quickly communicated back and forth and minutes later two shuttles left their respective dropships and headed over to the space station. They radioed ahead "shuttle one and shuttle two from the ARAR and the DCMS carrying Chairman Fernandez of the 1st Long Road Legion and Tai-sa Tadaki Johiro of the 9th Sword of Light request permission to dock." Tai-sa Thomas Shuriki of the Night Stalkers would remain with his regiment.

<This is Station Flight Control, approach clearance is granted, transmitting approach vector and prepare for auto control when you reach final approach Shuttles One and Two.> This of course was old school for the ARAR folks from their previous visit to the station and their approach and landing was uneventful with a small escort awaiting them at the air lock.
A quick walk thru the facility brought to them to the communications center where they were found General Yuu. Walking over he held out his hand to Fernandez then his companion in turn "Thank you for coming over Chairman, Tai-sa on such short notice, if you would both take a seat we can begin?" waves to the chairs around the main table where he and his officer start to seat themselves.

Pretending to look calm and collected was easier for the Tai-sa than for the Chairman. They had no real idea why this meeting was called so quickly and at this time of day. Still all their sensors and monitors told them that nothing had changed in the state of readiness and locations of the FS troops. Everything outside of the station remained calm. On the walk over to communications center however, there was a noticeable air of tension. There seemed to be an extra sharp focus in everyone's eyes.
The Tai-sa bowed to General Yee and took his seat. Chairman Fernandez gave the General a firm handshake and then took his seat. "So what gets the FS to call us in for a meeting at this ungodly time of the day?" Chairman Fernandez gave a nervous smile to show that he meant no insult by his remark, and adjusted the buttons on his jacket while awaiting the response.

"Bad news seldom waits for the most convenient time to present itself I've learned over the years." Yuu said as he looked at his guests "To put things in a nut shell I've received word that our benevolent phone company friends have begun to implement a plan to put the whole of humanity under their control. Presently a Comstar is simultaneously blockading and invading Outreach, and in violation of the recognized rules of war their warships have destroyed every jump ship outside of their own in the Outreach system. "
"Representatives from the Combine as well as both halves of the Federated Commonwealth were there to discuss evidence and intell that had been gathered both by the Dragoons and units operating at the direct orders of the Archon. Comstar hasn't only been hiding away stockpiles of SL left overs on Terra, they have a number of lost systems housing additional equipment left behind by the SLDF, including warships. The recent incident in Skye were fall out of the Lyrans discovery of one such site in the Odessa system labeled "Ruins of Gabriel."
"The Robes immediately starting trying to bribe the Archon with offers of sharing their horde of Lost Tech they've been hiding in exchange for cooperation, though it would seem that was simply a ploy. Comstar called their own conference on Terra to discuss some grave matter, The Prince's Champion Ardan Sortek, General Nondi Steiner, along with the delegates from the FWL and your own Theodore Kurita were attending. Comstar has claimed to have discovered the where about of the departed Kerensky and his followers." he paused and shuck his head "Yes they've located where they've settled and insisted upon a reformation of the SL in order to launch a pre preemptive attack against them in the off chance they ever might come back and be a threat. Our delegates are presently however stuck on Terra, you see their hosts have told them that there have been *Terrorist* attacks on not only the Terran HPG facility but on Outreach , thus the Sol system is locked down while their security looks for the terrorists."
At that point one of his officers speaks up "Intercepted communications secured during the Odessa incident referenced a Operation Scorpion being under way, it is our opinion based on the recent incidents , namely the various assassination attempts on House Leaders who had not accepted the invitation to attend the meeting on Terra and these alleged attacks on the HPGs that they are in fact part of this Scorpion which seems targeted at decapitating the major powers while Comsrtar makes it's power grab."
Raising his hand he waves to another of his junior officers who comes over bearing a what looks like a brief case, cuffed to his wrist "How do we know of this?" he waits for the officer to set the case on the table "Comstar doesn't have the monopoly on interstellar communications, this device was originally discovered some years ago in a long abandoned SL research facility , it is basically a HPG in a box, though it cannot handle the amounts of data a HPG can handle in single transmission it can still as you imagine relay useful information, we nick named it the Fax MAchine. This is how my chain of command has been keeping us here up to date. The information from Terra was relayed from our delegation , just as we know what is going on in Outreach. Tai-sa I have a message here for you from your government's rep on Outreach along with a copy of what was discussed there..and trust me if you thought what I have told you so far is hard to believe , it's just icing on the cake."

Chairman Fernandez thought "if this is what it is like being part of the IS, then i wish we could go back to the old days... pay attention, absorb all of this, i'm still in command of this task force."
The Tai-sa did not seemed fazed by the barrage of shocking and game changing news. He smirked "C* giveth and C* taketh away...." He had been with various Ghost Regiments when they had received their equipment shipments from C*. He had helped train these unclean men into at least some semblance of a fighting unit. During these times he had interacted with various C* personnel. As friendly and helpful as they were at the time, there always seemed to be something hanging above them, something greater, something guiding them. They were there yet they were distant. They were helpful, yet withholding something. It was a strange feeling that he could never find a single reason for or fact to support.
"Thank you General Yuu" said the Tai-sa as he slid the Fax Machine a bit to his left. He knew of these FS "Black Boxes" and he had seen a lot of twists, turns, and surprises in the IS, but the Chairman was, for now, still his commanding officer. Whether the Chairman would be able to cope with this situation, remained to be seen. But he was honor bound to serve this "country boy." The two men started reading the message. The Chairman had to read more than a few parts twice or thrice. The Tai-sa would patiently wait for the Chairman to wave him on and then scroll further. At various times, even the Tai-sa's eyes got bigger....
"General, Chairman, i think we can be sure that all C* HPG communications are compromised from here on forward. I request permission to return to my dropship to relay this message to DCMS HQ." said the Tai-sa. "May i have your machine's Comm-address? Once back on my dropship, my comm-center will establish a link to this machine and the information can be transferred." The Chairman looked at his subordinate and wondered "the HPG network is compromised, yet somehow he can relay messages to Luthien? Does everyone besides the OWA have these 'fax machines'?"

"That shouldn't be a problem Tai-sa." noting the Chairman's expression the AFFC officer chortled "Welcome to the major leagues as I believe the old saying goes. The Lyrans lets say lost a few of these some years back so we've suspected the Combine had acquired a few, which in this case is to our mutual benefit for as the Tai-sa as said we can't trust the HPG network and not just for fear of our messages being read." he then nodded to his comm officer who handed the Combine officer a data card with the info on it

Composing himself as much as he could, the Chairman stood "Thank you for this most informative midnight chat, with your permission we shall return to our ships. I shall leave the staff that came with me here. Best to get as many minds together and work through this big bite of intel."
As they were walking back to their shuttles, the Chairman leaned close to the Tai-sa and whispered "i'll travel back with you, we have a lot to talk about. However, until we receive new orders or something develops in this system, our orders stand. Also, how can we get these 'fax machines' on Alpheratz and with our ARAR units?"

The next day as Yuu had confirmed the last supply convoy emerged at the jump point in a wave of radiation, immediately the jump ships began deploying their jump sails as their passengers released from the drop collars. An assortment of Mules and several Behemoths maneuvered away from their rides to fall into formation before thrusting towards their destination.
Aboard the station Yuu watched from the command center and made sure everyone was ready, just in case things went upside down on them. Down in the massive cargo bay of the station a steady stream of stuff was offloaded from the drop ships. The AFFC staff as guides walked their guests thru the materials, electronics, tons of consumables from food to lubricants , fuel, and parts. Most of it the usual stuff you see used for repairs of drop and jump ships, that changes once the first Behemoth docks and starts unloading.
Massive is the only way describe the components being off loaded. The Captain in charge of guiding them stops by and shows them a naval autocannon barrel that had been offloaded and was being lifted by a huge robotic crane for movement to another area of the base where most of the work that had been going on appeared centered around. It was also an area that had been off limits, till General Yuu gave the word, which was likely be soon. Captain Carlson "Now the big stuff, this is all salvage we've rounded up over the years from the 1st and 2nd Succession Wars, couldn't really do anything with it cause all the facilities that could do assembly work on this scale got nuked around the same. That's why this place while great can only do so much do to what was left here, until we reverse engineer the know how to build new warships from scratch rebuild the infrastructure a place like this is going to be limited to needing a supply if salvageable hulls in system, so pretty much what it seems the Robes have been doing for years."

Running lights blinked along her over 600 meter length, then the gantries and arms all began to uncouple and swing away. About then General Yuu and a few more officers arrived from another corridor that seemed to lead towards the yard "Morning Gentlemen, I did promise you a look once we were finished up here didn't I?" joining them he turned and watched as the ship now floating free fired her starboard maneuvering thrusters, pushing herself slowly out of the cavernous bay "May I present to you the recommissioned FSN Retaliation she's a Davion II class destroyer. Were going to run some quick tests with her but in the mean time I have to get our units packing and prepare to leave, I however wish to leave a small team here with you fellows to maintain a channel of communications between our nations, which I fear we will need in the days to come now that the Robes have dropped their facade and are openly making a move to rule over all of us."

Because of this, we announce hereby a name-change to the DCP, we are now the ISCP. This shall not only be a sign of our growing efforts but also a statement of our neutrality... "
The speech did go on, about duty, sacrifice and the hunger in the world, but the most important words were said. The DCP renamed itself "Inner-sphere carritative program" and besides the name, nothing will change.

He was attacked by sinister murderers and managed to defeat them but ulitmatively succumbed to his wounds. His honorable death will be remembered forever. The Kuritan family has already begun the shòshiki (deathrites). The unity palaces temple will be open with the begining of tomorrow for the okòden (sacrifices and offerings) for a full week. "
With this the transmission ended and left a startled nation. Aiko Mori didn't know how to continue, as N-TV always reported live. Then she put a finger on the ear, clearly she was getting instructions. With a straight face she looked in the camera,
"Due to the recent events, we bring now a report about the great deeds of Takashi Kurita. "
And with this, the normal program was cut, for a memorial-report of the great, honorable, generous and militaristic brilliant former leader of the nation.

Unity Place and Palace
The unity place was full of people, millions travelled to pay their last respect to the former Coordinator and to bring their small offerings, often in form of incence sticks to the temple and place before it. Richer familys, esspecially the noble ones, brought immense offerings as it was tradition in the Combine. Not all of these presents were goods, most of them were actual money, to pay for the cost of the burial and many hoped for a okōden gaeshi, the special counter present that was also tradition and would be given out by the Kuritan family.
However, the Kuritan family was not to be seen. Until Takashis urn will be put in the family tomb, a lot has to be done and even after this, a 49 day long time of mourning began.
The shock was deep in the Combine and a lot of officers, warriors, workers, nobles and officials took some time of to pay their respects. Who couldn't make it to Luthien, visited a temple and sacrificed their something or at home, before the picture of the Coordinator that was hanging in every household, often close to the family shrine.

The rolling chains were shown.

The whole tank come into picture, firing the cannon.

A loud explosion destructs a unidentifieable target.

Cheering masses in the backround while the parade drives by.

They found themselves in the same conference room as before and Yuu got right to the point "Chairman, first I wish to thank you and the ARAR for your patience in the matter here. The Retaliation is ready to depart and my Regiment is already loaded onto the Robinson." mentally he made a note to rename the ship into something proper, "That said while turning the station over to you I have to ask that the 12th Deneb be allowed to remain till we can send the Robinson back for them?"
Yuu didn't look particularly happy about the situation both from his expression and posture "We have a four front war going on now that Comstar has openly moved against us and the Combine, it's pretty clear they're aiming at retaking the former Terran Hegemony systems. Our transport assets have become...well stretched to out it nicely and some of the jumpers we're planned on using to move the 12th out with us have been redirected. Till we can come back to collect them I have no way of moving them out of the system at the time being. I know this likely isn't what you wanted to hear, but no point in beating around the bush about it. "

They didn't hindre C* personal or civilians from entering or leaving the facilities at least on the normal HPG-compounds... but on the ICs it only took a blink of an eye and the number of customers was 0.

The message was followed by the faces of the deceased attackers...
The message was dynamite... Within the Combine the Shinto religion was still strong, and shinto centered around the ruler... the Tennō, the Emperor, the Coordinator. It was the worst thing anyone could do... It took only hours until furious people filled the streets and it came clear why the Civilian Guidance police was there... to ensure that the normal HPG-compounds are not attacked or destroyed.
Then puplic speakers were turned on with a larger or smaller time delay a speech was heared.

But direct your rage not amongst the people working for you, who are your acquaintances, friends or even brothers. It worked on some worlds better and on others not. Depending on their true loyality towards the Combine or how popular Takashi was on the planet but the overall tone was very clear and it didn't safe some acolytes to be torn apart by a furious mob.

The structure was massive and the passageway only consisted of a metal girder arround the person dozens of cables were running and the air was filled with the humming voices of countless machines. Blinking lights of smaller devices were giving away that they where really busy.
The shadowy sillouette marched towards a door and the light that flodded from there down the passage. When he entered he met two persons, one sitting at a massive console with dozens of computers, typing something. Behind this person a massive screen was hanging but did show nothing more than numbers.
"Greetings 01, everything goes as planned, " he spoke to the person in front of him. The woman answered him "Excellent 08,..." her voice sounded elderly... " I want you to prepare the next step... Hisui no tenshi must be a success on all means. " They walked on and entered a massive hall, they where standing on a building in its center... dozen of workers could be seen... welding together all of this.
" Who was that behind there?" He looked back at the estimated location of the person who has been standing in front of the consoles.
"That was 09, he is new to our organisation. He will borrow us his knowledge. "
"From where did you recruit him?"
"From where I do recruit my men is not of your concern, as are their identities. You only need to know that he shares our interrests to a certain degree and that he has a lot of experience on this field. This should be more information than enough."
The man layed his head to the side, no emotions could be seen because both where hiding their faces under mirrored glass masks.

Anaso Was adjusting to his new position quickly. He had to, there was no other choice. When a new faction suddenly attacked the DC and that faction has more forces than the DCMS and ARARDF combined...

The DCMS loses on Dieron had left a HUGE hole in the DCMS defenses. As of yet, the assets he had were not even remotely positioned to help close this gap.
The loss of one of his former units did sting. Yet he was not about to fall into the trap of retribution. This was a high stakes game and it was just beginning. The news the Yuuki's task force, including the 3rd, had made it off of Imbross III and onto Yorii was a bit of good news. The FC also had a few counter attacks in progress. Pin pricks to C*, moral boosters for the FC and DCMS forces. But a fate could change in a heart beat, so one must never be too attached to anything.
Yet all these unexpected happenings were to be expected. Asano knew warfare. "A plan is only good until first contact with the enemy is made..." And so it has been these last 7 months.

Asano turn his chair away from his screen and frowned. More bad news front the Dieron front. It had been a long dark year already, and it was not over yet...
Luckily the DCMS moral had actually improved. Regardless if they prescribed to the "old" or "new" Bushido code, the desire for honor and vengeance on the battlefield was strong. He often had a harder time holding back unit's enthusiasm for a fight than needing to encourage them. He had faith in his units and they had faith in the DCMS and Theodore. They all remembered the dark times preceding the War of 3039 and how they had come out of that stronger and wiser.

They managed to enter a special secured office and on its door a name was written: Makoto Hanso... the man who invented the PAL for the DCMS. They broke into a safe and left through a hall full of exoskeletons, PAL parts and while doing so there was the sound of a running servo...

Then a red dot appeared and a machine gun was fired. Instantly the men drew their own weapons but the bullets ricocheted, flying wild in the room. Then open the gun fired ones more, while glowing red eyes pirced through the darkness.

One made a run for it, trying to secure the objective and his life. Every single shot enlighted the laboratory behind him, he could hear the others scream in pain. He tried to obscure himself with a smog grenade when he saw something following him, then he heared a incredible loud sound, like a strong mechanical impulse. Than something clashed into the ground before him, standing up to full size pointing a gun at him nearly the size of himself. Golden scales shining in the light of a street lamp.
"Resistance will be eliminated."
A single shot was fired, the massive bullet tearing everything in its way apart, the impact throw the thief from his feet and left nothing but a bloody mess.

The transmission had a far greater effect on the countless memberworlds of the Combine, as they actually never had access to the C*-Network and literally were hearing a hyper-space transmission the first time in their life.

A warm welcome surely was something different. The moment Ex-Primus Waterly had announced her willingly stepping back from the position of Primus, she was given to the now all to famous Lotus Regulars, which had transported her and several survivors to Dieron. While "the others" received medical treatment she was transported further and finally locked in a windowless cell, heavily guarded and only feed enough so she wouldn't die. How many days went by, she coudln't tell... only one thing was sure: She would not see the tea-fields of her family again. No light, no communication, total silence began to nag on her and it was only broken for the short moments when a guard brought her something to eat. Mostly it was something soup like which can be eaten without any cutlery, just two bowls... something to drink and some more watery nothing that would at least ensure she stays alive. She wore no clothes, the cell wasn't exactly warm and the toilet was a squat one. Everything was out of plastic, so any attempts of murdering herself with the interior would fail, not that she wasn't monitored 24/7 via video.
The days and nights felt endless, she began to loost track of time... and herself. Screaming out: "Kill me already." Because this surely would be a release from this eternal hell. Yet, nothing happend.

Coming down like meteors were the Regiments of the Dragon Guard, coming to retake the Dragons Territory. But for most they were, in fact, shooting stars fullfilling dreams of reconnection to the realm of the Dragon. Their marching was proud, strong, and fast... retaking without even firing one shot, letting the banners of the Combine fly through the sky.
Boulevards were decorated to welcome the saviours, the brave soldiers of the Combine. Little did they know that this war had been ended on a different level, little did they know about the sacrifices made. Yet, who cared for now? This was a time of celebration and so the troops marched towards each planets capitol to raise the flag of black and red.

When the Draconis Combine had once seen a large number of recruiting for the Mustered Soldiery, now it was the Admirality. From everywhere reached the call for the stars and after the fights of Titan, this call was heared. Yet a clear plan behind it... The Draconis Combine was building up its fleet and Aerospace forces and for this thounsands over thousands of recruits were needed. Be it to man the coming warships, fly the escort ASF or simply as boarding troops in battle taxis.
This was largely discussed behind the scenes and the rivalry between DCMS and DCA grew anew as the DCA got lots of the attention of the Coordinator.

"At least something" she thought. Then she felt as being watched, percepting the shadow of someone on the other side of the glas wall of the room. "Who is there?"
Then a light turned on, it was a central spot above the person standing there. "Is that important Waterly?" She locked away in pain, for far to long she had been in the shades. The figure before her wore long greenish-black robes and a mask of mirrored black glas, hiding its face. The voice was that of an old man, an old weak man to be precise. He was standing there, resting his right arm on a walking staff, after her eyes could a bit more accumulate to the light, she saw that it was the hand of an elder, wrinkles and thick veines, spots of age, and a very thing figure ... he looked as standing there was indeed a pain for him.
"What do you want from me? Why haven't I be killed? Who do you think you are?"
" Mymy, your fire hasn't gone. I hope you enjoy my presents, your new housing and the cloths... But apparently I will ask the questions here and maybe, when I am satisfied, I will answer one from you..."

On Dieron, Sirens began to quiver, Warlord Michi Noketsuma declared the highest status of emergency.
The propaganda towers were anouncing: " All Combine citizens, move to designated security area. Keep identification badges visible at all times,..."
Schools were closed, rations bunkered,... Dieron had seen one recent war against ComStar and they will be prepared this time. Draconien families began to send away children and woman to further away systems, to far relatives, if there were any, but most would look for any way out of C* reach, even if they hadn't any family at the far end of the realm. Nobody wanted to end in a massacre like Northwind or Outreach. The fear was real, as was the threat.
And on Saffel, Quentin, Altair, Yorii Imbross, Dyev, Asta, Styx Nirasaki, Athenry... it was similar.

This became her daily routine, she... refusing to answer, he always asking the same personal, not very secretive questions, always with something actual from Inner Sphere politics, most of the times ComStar related, or something about her ideals and backround. She didn't know wether she was carving for the conversations or hated them... and always he was accompanied with light, if she answered he gave her small threads, like something better to eat, if she "missbehaved" he left her in the dark.
After some talks, he introduced himself as "Reason". And reasoning it was what he wanted to her the most it seemed,... fitting...

" Due to the latest Outbreak on the Terra conference, the Coordinator informs ComStar that he will never give over the Nation to a person sharing thought with the former Primus Waterly. He will not sit by and watch the Inner-Sphere submit to a tyrany, may it come from the deep periphery or the core of the Inner-Sphere. We inform ComStar that we see this development as treat to our newly achieved peace and if this is truly not ComStar position on the current situation, we advice ComStar not only to rethink its position but also to properly anounce it. We inform ComStar that the statement of the Primus is clearly implifyingr violations of points 1, 3 and 7.1 of the agreement between us, which state:
ComStar agrees to:
1.) Comstar relinquishes control over all DC planets taken in the current campaign
3.) Comstar re-establishes HPG communication in the DC
in exchange the DC agrees to:
7.) The DC does not participate in any actions against C* for the next 10 years.

Due to the lack of VALID official news and statement, the Coordinator hereby declares following laws:
1.) All ComStar personal within the Draconis Combine is not allowed to own or wear weaponry or armor, this counts also for vehicles, planes, Mekks, warships, and so fort. Doing so will result in arrest or execution. Resistance will be met accordingly.
2.) All ComStar personal has to wear at all times identify cards and arm badges, stating their connection to ComStar. They must inform authority every 12 hours about their current location. Arm badges will be handed out by authority. Opposing this law will result in arrest.
3.) ComGuard and ROM troops, or any other military/armed organ under C*s control are banned from the Draconis Combine, as their presence is a major treat to internal security. ComStar has time until the end of this quarter to remove them or face confiscation and/or arrest.
4.) ComGuard and ROM troops, or any other military/armed organ under C* control must inform flight control 3 months ahead before arriving in DC territory for whatever reason, or face consequences stated under point 3.
We inform ComStar, that we do not wish to find ourselves in the need of taking action against them.
We inform ComStar that above laws are no violation on the peace treaty, but a ensurance that peace will be held. The security of Draconian citizens, even the ones working for ComStar is our outmost wish but until Terra has cleared its position, we must continue on this path.
We inform ComStar, that elements of authority will take position in all C* facilities in the Combine to ensure safety for all, we do not wish that any side is harmed. This is also a security meassure for C*-personal as the last interdiction lead to civillian rallies against C* that cost to many innocent lives.

This specially counts for the members of the Concord of Kaptyen and the members of the Inner Sphere Defense Force. A interdiction and a treat for submission is seen as violation of our agreement. "

8 AM local time a urgent message is delivered by a Royal Courier with a message for the Ambassador. The fellow hands over a message chip bearing both the seals of the Foreign Ministry and the Townshed-Davion family crest. Nothing out of sorts can be found , no explosives, toxins or such assuming it gets a full security check, on it a video message and having met the Duke's family the Ambassador will recognize his Daughter-In-Law when played. (Note bit of a mess up on my end of things Anna T-D is the Duke's wife and their daughter -in-law is Rosanna)

Wakahisa was an old man, former warrior of the Combine and had since a year, the position of ambassador for teh Federated Commonwealth. He had now spoken multiple times with the Townsheds but this was the first message that actually made him smirk. He looked through the documents, two times, before he tought on how to send them. It was a distance of about 285 ligh years to Dieron. It would need at least a week to arrive. On the other side... a ship would need also about a week to reach the planet. So there was in fact enough time. No need to force something through ComStars Improved Communication Service... No need to set up a story, encode messages and start a diversion. It will be on time, but a bit late. Michi wouldn't jsut shoot down any warship entering Dieron space, would he?

Luthien and the Lotus District had changed in the last 2 years massively, due to the complete reform that Coordinator Takashi Kurita had begun and was further advanced by his son, the Lotus District had truly become the flower of the realm. The city of Enlightment was located there, as was JADE Enterprises HQ.
The massiv, circular complex of the "city of enlightment" it's countless laboratories, libraries and research facilities, accompanied by a complex of universities made Luthien the center of knowledge throughout the Combine. The population recognised a significant growth since from the whole realm students were arriving to enlist on at least one of it. The city of enlightment was different than its traditional surrounding. It was young, dynamic and innovative and due to the genious founding program the DC was upholding since the 3040 year, the different universities could proudly announce that every great scientist of the latest years, came from this city of scholars.
The other new satellite city of the Imperial city of Luthien, besides the well known eiga-toshi, was the enourmous HQ of JADE Enterprises. Known to the locals as "Jade-city" it was remarkable for its looks as the modern and futuristic buildings alienated every traditional Combine architecture. Going with the Companies doctrine and marketing, truly every building was coloured in the green-tone that gave them their name. Inside, not only the research labs and office buildings were located, but also the flats for employees and a smaller military complex. In the center of the city, in the middle of the communication plaza the "Spire" was standing. A massiv building, more resembling a huge antenna than a office building. On its top, the heads of JADE reside controlling the second largest communication service in the inner-sphere from above all.
So important became the Lotus-District that the Coordinator decided that he will give it the same status as the Autonom Repuplic, a nation within a nation, as it was in the old days... in the days the Combine was a combination of realms and its ruler, the Coordinator, carved his title. Once more, the realm of the dragon had 5 military districts, but now two member nations.

Before the old Forbidden City the Lotus Regulars were standing lined up. The ambassadors of all nations that had a embassy in the Combine had been invited, yet it was unlickely that all would attend and even the former Primus of Luthien was forced to attend before he would be deported. The reason for the gathering was the judgement of Ex-Primus Waterly...
Out of a curatin-box of white silk she walked, looking panicked, completly malnourished and wearing nothing but dirty white cotton cloths.
" Waterly, under the influence of the blood you orderd atrocities against the Realm of the Dragon, your place of birth. Once a promising individual you left us, betrayed us and raised your sword against us. You were fooled to move against us, yet you did move on your own. Therefore your punishment will not be a simple execution but rather the "Walk of Naginata". Everyone before you represents a feud, a grude or a crime you have begun. She looked before her... hundreds of Lotus Regulars were standing there, all armed with Naginatas and at the end of the walk, a wooden box, resembling the Imperial Palace throning behind, with bloodred silk curatins, was standing.

A life in peace lying before her, but hundred of spears inbetween she hesitated... Two Lotus Regulars walked towards her to push her into the march but she mad ethe first steps on her own. Looking nervously to the left and right. She made a few steps and one of the warriors in traditionall japanese Armor swung his Naginata, scratching her at the arm. The pain followed up immediatly. he didn't say a further word, but with this gesture he ended whatever feud he held against her. And her march continued. Two strikes... three, four...
walking became pain and it would even get worse. It became hard to move with a cut leg... not all hits were just scratches... it was up to the warrior how hard he would strike and they were even free to just cut down her head. She tried to dodge, to protect her most vital parts but eventually she was stabbed.
Walking becacame crawling... she would have to try to reach the end... or die... at the end the Coordinator, the tenno was waiting... that was at least what she thought. Countless stabbs later, she reached the palace... behind the bloodred curtains she could see a figure... she smiled crawled forward... the wind blew the curtains a bit up, she could see the figure sitting behind it...

She rethought the position she was in… and felt gratitude for the position she was in now, as it put her aside from the intrigues and the powerplay that was always happening in her former home. Her mother had given birth to another child, another potential heir, another one that will be watched by the Order of five Pillars, another one that will be tested and forged to become a leader… The Keeper of house-honor would ensure it. But herself, who would be married to the house Avellar, who would never be allowed to become the heir, was free… and that relieved her… even if the life in the ARAR was hard for her… she would take over the house Kurita-Avellar, which will become a sworn in subhouse of the family branches with the only task to guide and lead the Autonom Repuplic… this year she would turn 14 and therefore be of age to marry, yet her future husband was now not even ten years old.

Mitchell Avellar, on the other side found that there was no such thing as childhood in the Combine, specially for a boy that will become samurai, trained in the house Kurita. He found himself alien to the household he lived in, his mother was by his side, while his father remained in the ARAR to rule… and cultural differences hit them all quite hard. Rebecca deSanders wasn’t a humble, silent, following woman and she surely hadn’t raised her son to complete obedience, what was “ a pain in the ass” to describe it in Outworlders slang, for his draconian teachers. After one year, the boy didn’t meet the expectations of the Keeper of House Honor, therefore his teacher was blamed and dismissed. This happened two more times and finally it was Tomoe Sakade who whispered into her husbands ear and another arrangement was made. The new teacher, Mohammad sheikh al Rezai came from the worlds of the Azami. Long serving in the DCMS, being a noble of his homelands and trusted friend to the Sakade-clan, he should ensure the education of the boy. He was living the principles of bushido and even was regarded honorable by some samurai …but differently to them, he was open minded. He acted the draconian traditions but upheld within the true Islamic tradition, which held wisdom, intellect, education and most importantly, the mentioned open mind, in high regards. This led however to new uproars, as Mohammad ordered the former, Outworld teachers of Mitchell to come over to New Samarkand. The boy found himself in a household of three traditions, three kinds of living and three ways of thinking and his new teacher was very proud about the ruckus he caused by doing so.

Since her husband and she have traveled to Combine territory and since Constance had left the O5P, she had been introduced to this important position. Also, with the current situation in the Taurian Concordat, her position as high-ambassador had become obsolete. Nobody would risk her life by letting her be there any longer.

Lately the Coordinator hat greatly founded the fleet and while this was a military interest, the majority of the DC-military were ground warriors, who haven’t seen much of the Coordinators attention lately. So it came surprisingly that the Coordinator had addressed the noble warrior clans that resided within the Combine. Many families within the Combine watched this noble ancestors with great awe, wether they beared their name or not. Even larger was the surprise when they heard what else the Coordinator had on his mind for the coming quartal and it brought him a lot of sympathy with the caste…

For draconian scientists, the reign of Theodore was a golden age, there was not much to add to this statement. The realm had become rich and so also the founding for research in general was plentiful, it was an age of growing for the Combine, even when the next conflicts just waited next door, be it rimwards or corewards.

About Moral
Moral... moral means everything in a war, moral can decide battles and iron will, united will was always one of the Dragons strongest attributes. But with the recent propaganda, achievements, conflicts, reeducation, structurisation. Fanatism was on the rise. "One will" wasn't just a phrase in the Combine. The people believed it, lived it, more than ever. it was burned into their brains like a mark of destinction. Thw workers class was proud to work 18 hours a day, the warriors were proud to give their lifes... They wanted to hear the Dragons call and the inner fire burned more and more fierce.
In a questioning the ISF found that 83.132 % of population were fanatically loyal to the Coordinator and 16.868% were reliable. Nobody, not even the caste of unproductive or the troops, that were recruited from their ranks, would even think of betraying the Realm of the Dragon or question its rulers.
Indrahar Subhash was surprised and worried. This was just another stab into the black dragon society and therefore he couldn't appreciate this statistic as he should do. At least, he wouldn't have to make another plan to ensure the safety and nature of the realm, but under this circumstances he asked himself how long he would be able to uphold the society itself, as even their ranks begin to fall from the organisations cause, also possible leaks were to occur. He had to take meassures... but apparently, the troops that could leak, the Alshain Regulars, or better, the former troops loyal to the society, were moved away to the Rimworlders War.
Was these yet another trap by the Coordinator?
Was he tested?
The head of the draconians Internal Security Force, began to feel watched, endangered and outsmarted... feelings he didn't had since a long time.

Still on New Avalon, Florentius aka uncle Matt grinned like a devil, after all he was in charge for the most missions against ComStar and with the Federated Commonwealth cutting the deal, the time began to tick... soon... the art of vendetta was one that needed time.

A lot of stuff had to be done and the army hadn't seen much of the attention of the Coordinator lately.
On the other side, the warrior caste had seen much attention. While the DCMS was a bit short, the samurai-clans were not... receiving the finest equipment available since quite some time.
