She was quite happy with the way this went.
Sadly some of the plans had to be accelerated, by a decade or more...
This was a shame but oh well.

She pushed a button and spoke

"Ibrahim? Please prepare for a beam to the Tharkad HPG. I want this to be relaised right away. No delay, Tharkad HPG is to stand by until my message is delivered."

then she took her stylus and started writing:

Terra
Europe
Bertah von Suttner palace, Prague

Preparations were busy all over the city
Hotels had to be picked, according to the theme.
Luckily Prague was a city of great ancient houses, many over one and a half millenia old.
All around the Venzels Square where, in the Bertha von Suttner Palace the meeting would take place, finishing touches had to be made.
It was easy to prepare the city since it was a hub for local tourism anyway.
All Comstar had to do was prepare the place and book all hotels in town.

The palace iteslf was a marvellous place with Marble walls, gold and diamond chandeliers and teak applications everywhere.
The building itself was from the closing of the second millennium named after some, to most, long forgotten former Austrian philosoph-ess who got a long stopped price awarded. The so called 'Nobel Prize for Peace'.

Comstar did not do great changes to the building, in fact close to no changes at all.
With there being close to no tech besides electricity in the building it was easy to guarantee technological security.
Comstar simply decided to shut out all technology besides validated computers and pads who were handed to the national representatives upon their arrival.

All they had to wait for now were the esteemed guests. The house lords of the great houses of the Inner Sphere.
House Davion from the federated Suns who would reside in the Castle of Prague
House Kurita from the Draconis Combine who would be assigned the japanese Tea garden house
House Marik from the Free Worlds League who would reside in the Sacher Hotel of Prague
House Liao of the Confederacy of Capella who was assigned the Venzels Hotel itself directly at the Venzels Square
The representatives of the Free Republic of Rasalhague who were to stay at the Gromnica family hotel. The eldest hotel in town.
And finally House Stiener of the Lyran Commonwealth who would reside in the Iron Gate hotel whos Tower suites were located in the highest towers in the city.

Romano thanked the technician and asked for a private booth to be dedicated for her response.

Not even a minute later, she was being escorted into the back of facility to the most secured rooms. “Thank You” she said as she took a minute to use the rooms private chamber to ensure she looked her best before moving into the room. Fiddling with a pen, she started to pen a response.

Ten minutes later Romano put down the pen and took the paper back to the mirror to practice her response. Confident she got her sly smile down just right she headed back to the recording chamber and started …

“Thank you for your kind invitation Primus. Of course I will attend as long as suitable arrangements can be made to ensure my safety through the territory we have not yet been able to recover. I do not take the recent actions by your billing department to heart. I understand that certain security measures are necessary to ensure your continued broadcasts and you have my word that all of our troops attempting to liberate Capellan Citizens are under strict orders not to engage hostiles heading to Comstar facilities. We always extend a truce to enemy combatants not riding in combat vehicles that courtesy. We find your services as invaluable as ever and would not do anything that would jeopardize our good relations.

I eagerly wait to see what has such universal import as to necessitate a calling of the House Lords to your world.”

Romano signed off and played the message back before submitting it to the sending que. While she was there she notices something odd associated with her secret drop box that Tseng had created to monitor commanders, immediately she spooled up the recorder again and requested a live feed available to her account for domestic business. When Tseng’s face showed up she skipped with the pleasantries, “What do you mean the Shin Legion is requesting  permission to land!?”

In the void above Terra

Without a sound the draconian jumpship "golden dragon" enters the zenit-jumppoint of the system. All talk, all arrangements with ComStar where done to a degree, the Combine found acceptable. And there, at this jumppoint it remained... silent... not a uncommon thing to do for a jumpship but while its sunsails unfolded one thing surely did not happen. The launch of the dropship.

The cigar shaped structure remained there. Seeming to wait for something...

It was a few hours later, when on the same jumppoint, more or less near to the "golden dragon" a second jumpship appeared. Now, there came movement into both of them. Shuttles crossing the void between them. And short encoded messages were exchanged. Then the "golden dragon" and the "TCS Foxland" were as silent as before... and for further hours it shall remain so.

At last, the dropship of the Combine was asking for permission to land, being advised a position at the spaceport... the dragon had landed.

An Overload-class dropship landed at the area of the spaceport designated for the Lyran delegation. Nondi Steiner looked out across the Terran sky with a grim smile. She had not wanted to come, atleast not without several RCTs at her back, but it could not be helped. The robes wanted a meeting, and she was going to give it to them alright. It was unlikely that Theodore would have got the note from Melissa in time, and thus he was here. She felt that she had to warn him, preferablly before the meeting with the Primus, but knew it would be almost impossible.

Nondi saw the staff car coming for her, and decided that she would simply be patient, and see what the Primus had to say. She doubted the fool woman had a clue what she was unleashing on the Sphere, but it was a lesson Nondi hoped she would be around to see learned.

Apparently, it was to late...

to late... for the news of the incident in the Forbidden City to reach Theodores ears.

to late... for the message of the Archon to be read by the heir.

The entourage of the Combine had already landed on Terra and so, their destiny was unsure.

This was the day, the Primus thought.
The day that would change the face of the Inner Sphere. Once and for all!

She had been preparing for this for years. And with the recent turn of events, it was more than obvious that Comstar had to asume a different role in this universe.
A role of domination, of leadership, of a guiding hand and a strict parent, if need be.

She chose her robe, she chose her shoes.

Soon it echoed through her head
Soon I'll speak to the house lords

It should be a couple of days before the first DC jumpship will arrive with the desperate try to inform Theodore Kurita, but even then... it would be even more days until the engines could make a jump away from the system.

On the surface, Theodore was sitting with the newly married couple, having a tea, or better...trying to give Ian a first hint on what a tea-ceremony ment. It was a good and silent time and Theodore looked in the round... next to him Neil Avellar was sitting and on the other side... Ian Kurita-Calderon and Hinata Isu. While it was Florimel Kurita-Calderon who was serving the tea. Still... Theodore became uneasy... the missing of his father was on his mind. Had the Archon started an attack that would hindre Takashi from coming? No, his would be to dangerous for her at this point of history. Also,... why was no other houselord on Terra? Something wasn't right. Normally any house would have followed the call in some way...

Imperial Suite
Sacher Hotel
Vienna, Terra
Sol System

Several days had passed since the FWL delegations arrival on Terra.  The FWL delegation had arrived on Terra with much less fanfare then any of the other Houses.  If not for Comstar's guarantee of safe passage, he wouldn't have made this voyage personally.  Archon Steiner's word was not worth much in these troubled times.  With the Lyrans dragging his nation into the expanding fray caused by the Cappellans, Thomas was busier then ever with affairs of state.  He had enough faith in Comstar and the LCCC to allow him to come personally hear what the Prius had to offer.

At least he'd been able to spend some time with his daughter Isis while he waited on Comstar conference to begin.  She had been enthralled during their private showing of Karkulka a Cerveny Balonek.  The famous Divadlo Minor troupe had held a special showing in the beautiful Národní Divadlo just for the FWL delegation's families.  He really shouldn't have brought her along with him to this meeting, but he couldn't resist sharing with her the culture of their ancient homeworld.  There was just never enough time in the day for the two of them.  Glancing over his shoulder, he saw his 6 year old daughter enjoying the house specialty.  Now if only he could convince her to share some of the cake the hotel Sacher was famous for......

The room was filled with teak and marble.
Ancient furniture handcrafted centuries ago.

The representatives of the various houses had joined the room and sat down, waiting for the meeting to begin.

When the Primus entered the room she was accompanied by a tall grown man with an eye patch. They assumed position at their desk and she smiled into the circle speaking:

"I welcome you, representatives of the great Houses of the Inner Sphere.
It is a great honor to welcome you on sacret Terra, here in old Europe. I hope you jenoy your stay in Prague.

But let us start!

The Order is empolying several programs besides the maintianance of the HPG network, always dutiful trying to benefit humanity.
One of those programs is the so called 'Explorer Corps' which was founded to search for lost worlds, new, habitable planets, maintain contact with nations in the deeper periphery and also search for the remains of the SLDF who left with General Aleksandr Kerensky, as you sure all know.

And this is also the reason for why I called you here:

We have found the SLDF in Exile!"

she gave this a moment to sink in

"Roughly a year ago the magellan jumpship 'Outbound Light'" she pushed a button and a holo came to life showing the somehow strange looking ship

"A Magellan class jumpship equipped with a HPG array jumped into a system near the Gum Neblua the designation of the system was HT-34#45/3.
The mission of the JumpShip was to search for habitable planets near the three nebulas in the region.

The exact coordinates from terra are: 31.17:1,754.07 light years.
The system they encountered hosted seven planets, one of them in the 'blue belt' of a solar system that was able to host life and, much to the surprise of the crew onboard the 'Outbound Light' a space station at Nadir jump point.

They quickly got hailed. We got the message transmitted to us, let me bring it up:

Quote
"This is StarCaptain Eric Folkner of the Ebon Guard. Unknown ship. You have entered Strana Mechty. You are on holy ground. State your clan, designation and issue a trial or prepare to be boarded. You have understood, quiaff?"

The sensors of our ship picked up heavy traffic in the system and a lot of radio traffic coming from the 4th planet in the system.

They were able to send several packages of informations befor getting boarded and finally subtued."

she looked sidewards

"Ladies and Gentlemen. May I present Precentor Martial, Anastasius Focht who will let us in on the details."

he rose, something was odd about this man, he seemed familliar, still so vastly different...

"Ladies and Gentlemen. My name is Anastasius Focht. I am commander of the ComGuards. But about that we will talk later. Now about our find:

It is brought down to several key informations:

We have found the remainders of the SLDF and they now call themselves 'The clans'. From the various designations we picked up there have to be several of them. They seem to be organized by animal names. We got

Ebon Keshik
Jade Falcon
Wolf
Ice Hellion
Nova Cat
Hells Horses
Star Adder
and
Cloud Cobra.

So it seems they fractured quite a bit.

We also were able to gather some informations about their ships. Several Warships, mostly old SLDF designs like the Texas, Potemkin and also Vincent were present but also a new design that was docked to a massive yard array over the 4th planet.

You all heard the radio message. The man was talking about a 'Trial' and used a completely unfamiliar rank designation.. 'StarCaptain'."

he put his hands on the table

"We do know little more, but we must asume that most of the SLDF in Exile Survived in this region of Space.

Comstar has long thought about theese facts and we came to a conclusion: Now that we know that the SLDF in Exile is out there. And now that they are there, Comstar has put a great effort into trying to blend in with then and learn about them.

What we gathered so far is that there are roughly fifteen clans. They are strictly organized by a caste system with the warriors building the top of the system.

The forces are organized in clusters, roughly a reinforced batallion of soldiers and those again are united in Galaxies, so basically speaking a reinforced regiment, maybe two.

Most clans seem to be pretty small, though with five to a maximum of ten galaxies in size overall.
They seem to have some kind of warship support, but no heavy it seems. The average seems to be somewhere between five and ten warships again.

Now where does this lead us?

The question is: Should we leave them alone? Will they even want to come back?

I say: We must strike! Taking the war to them is better than letting them wage war in our beloved Inner Sphere!

I would suggest a three step plan:

Step one: Reunite the Periphery powers into the Inner sphere to concentrate our powers
Step two: As most of you are already sporting some hidden warships or have warship programs running yourself, comstar will equip you with the techniques to kickstart your own programs or, change into third gear, so to say
Step three: ReForm the StarLeague, unite most of our armies and deep-strike the clan homeworld directly.

Therefor I would ask for at least fifty percent of every states army plus maybe another ten to twenty five percent, just to make sure we can overwhelm them with massive numers.

Comstar itself would provide the full extent of the Comguards, roughly ten regiments of forces risen from Terra and the cached and remaining warships that were in mothball since the days of the StarLeague to the mission.

I would call it 'Case White'

We would assemble, just as the SLDF did it, in the region near the Outworlds Alliance, DC, Suns border and move from there.

You'll now ask where this world is... Well let me show you!

any questions?"

OOC: Yes it is a clan invasion era IS map - I did not get an older deep periphery map - sorry!

The Kuritan delegation began to talk under each other and that was most likely what was happening at this moment to every represantative, at least Neil Avellar thought so and took a look around who was gathered here. Also he was thinking if "How about no? " could count as valid question.

Theodore Kurita took a look at Ian Kurita-Calderon just to make sure he didn't jump someone in the face. A short gesture followed, to keep calm and silent... for now... followed by a blink with the eye. Right now, thousand question were running through his Theodores... this all seemed strange and sudden.

Amongst the Federated Suns delegation there was a fair amount of subdued discussion before someone amongst them tapped on one of the microphones set before them. Ardan Sortek looked at the Precentor Marshal, well more then a tad bit skeptically "That was quite the presentation, though it appears to me that there was something missing from it." pausing he glanced around at the other delegations before returning his eyes to  Focht "What we noticed missing was any reasoning as to why we should be looking at launching a unprovoked attack against these Clans in the first place?"

As the various initial reactions subsided Thomas Marik entered the discussion.

"I'm sure the Primus has more proof that shows that this is more then just some Periphery crackpot getting lucky.  I do agree with Prince Champion Sortek though that more is needed before we start yet another needless war.  Most of us already are busy dealing with local aggression and do not need another front, especially one at such a distance that it is of no immediate concern."

"Sir Ardan Sortek. You raise a very valid point.
Why attack them when they have left us in peace for so long?"

He started pacing around

"History, Mr. Sortek, is full of examples of the native population of a certain area being invaded, overwhelmed and finally driven close to or into extinction.

This is a warrior culture, ladies and gentlemen. And sooner or later they WILL seek to strike against the Inner Sphere. Now some of you can easily relax, kick back and say 'this is not my issue'. Nations like the Free Worlds League or the Confederacy of Capella, even the Free Republic of Rasalhague have little to fear.

Or do they?

Our analysts say that there is a certain chance that those... clans could overwhelm the Draconis Combine or Federated Suns. And once they gain a beachhead in the Inner Sphere would be VERY difficult to drive out again.

This is why we say 'strike now' when they least expect it, instead of waiting and hoping to be safe."

once again he pointed at the holo

"All we would need is half your military strength. And that is half of the strength from everybody. So the sales would not change.

Preferably though, we'd love to see commands light the Geynosha, the Heavy Davion Guards, The red Lancers, The first Free worlds Guards, The Royal Guards and the like submitted to the cause. "

he sighed

"I am no man of many words, Ladies and Gentlemen. What do you think? can we come to an agreement?"

the Primus jumped in there

"Or is Comstar standing alone?"

"With all due respect I have yet to hear or see any evidence that these Clans represent any threat to the Inner Sphere presented here Primus. Vague references that amount to that they represent a potential threat by their very existence,  and a call to reform a new SL for the sole purpose of launching a per-emptive war. You also call for bringing the Periphery States into this new SL, sorry but the sounds a bit too much like  the Pollux Proclamation for comfort."

"I fear there are far too many unanswered questions Precentor Martial to make it with a few words. Reforming the Star League would take months of political negotiations and not only for the purpose to determine who will lead it, but to bring rivalries and feuds to an eaze. This counts also for the troop movement,... if any is willing to give 50-70% of his troops to this cause, what is an immense amount and highly doubted possible by my side. What is your time plan for all of this? How many years do you think it will take? Yet, even if we would agree to this mission I fail to see the gain of it. But maybe the greatest problem here is something completly different. We were notified that this shall be a meeting about the ongoing crisis, not an 'all out war'-meeting for a far away realm. Excuse me if I have to say it... but this all seems far to hasty and abrupt. "

The Primus sighted

"It seems, esteemed invitees, that you fail to see the gravity of the situation. It might be true that they present to real threat today, and maybe not tomorrow, but they will in maybe ten years or later.
We have to prepare NOW and not have oursevles surprised...

But if you refuse to sign a declaration of interest and start working on a united Inner Sphere today, then Comstar will have to stop the clans on its own accord, without your help."

with that they rose

"Enjoy the meal, ladies and gentlemen. And if anyone of you is willing to negotiate a cooperation in private, feel free to contact me.
With this, I will close this session, seeing that there is no willingness to support a joint cause."

She turned to leave while the Precentor Martial saluted and followed suit short after.

Theodore raised an eyebrow while the Primus was leaving. This was the shortest and worst militarical and political meeting he had ever been to. Was ComStar really expecting that the houses end the periphery, reform the Star League, give away 70% of their troops and start a war with a far away and foreign realm just with a single 'Yes'? Without providing any deeper information on any topic? This was more than odd...

" Strange that only Marik made it here, besides us... " said Neil with silent voice.
" This is apparently the next thing that wonders me, right after this proclamation," was Theodores answer. "This is all completly different from what I suspected to be happening here. "
" I was also surprised by their 'strategy' for the Periphery Realms, " Neil continued.
" So was I,... this is strangly direct and  offensive for ComStar. Also, they did know that you two... " he looked from Ian to Neil and back. "Will be here. We notified the whole delegation. What would have happened if any other Periphery Realm would have been present?"
" Excuse me lords, but I will leave this meeting, " came from Hinata Isu.
" I wish you a pleasant travel, lady Isu. It is a shame that the matter of the crisis was not mentioned. But fear not, we will make your proclamation then via INN. " She bowed sligthly before Theodore and the other gathered nobles " I thank you kindly for your troubles " and went to leave.
" How shall we proceed? " continued the President.
" Well, this already has such a strange taste that it is not waking my hunger in any form. We will leave early and maybe I will take the opportunity to talk to Marik. Any other suggestions?"
The draconian delegation of course stayed silent.
" I am fine with it, when the newest family member is fine with it, " sayed Neil and looked at Ian. What lead to horrified looks by the Draconians... how could he speak so easily of his opinion. "And you should probably speak to the Primus... an upset Primus is never good. " Theodore nodded, nobody could argue with that.

"So that's it?" Sortek said aloud not bothering to even watch as their hosts picked up their ball and walked away like a pair pf proverbial  spoiled children who had been told no. Strange as it sounded to himself he found himself almost missing her predecessor, Julian Tiepolo may have been a manipulative rat but he had been a far more subtle and reasonable sort compared to Waterly.  A quick word sent one of his aides over to deliver a request for a quick chat with Nondi Steiner  after  he had a chat with a few folks here first.

He then got up from the table and with no preamble walked around it and approached the Combine delegation, specifiably Theodore and Avellar as they spoke  amongst themselves. "Gunji-no-Kanrei, Mr. President." Ardan addressed them politely before casting a eye towards the spot where the Primus had been "I take it that you were as..well surprised not just by the presentation but that they expected us to be salivating at the prospect of charging off to go beat up on someone new?"

" Yes, we were. While I would not mind further movements to improve the political situation in the inner sphere, I have to admit that we found ourselves... unprepared for this meeting and how it did go on. " was the surprisingly friendly respond of Theodore Kurita who stood up to great Sortek with a short bowing. It surely was unfriendly to speak while one person was sitting and the other standing.

" Surprised is an underestimation... " was the blunt but also friendly responding of Neil Avellar, who also stood up to great Sortek.

((My first non-LC post!!!))

As the Primus and Precentor Martial were leaving, Focht placed his hand on the Primus' elbow and whispered something in her ear. Nobody was close enough to hear what was said, but the Primus visibly stiffened, glanced around the room filled with nobles, and then hurridly walked out of the room, with Focht following, seemingly confused, a few steps behind her.

The brief by-play lasted less than 4 seconds, but several of the ComStar acolytes around the room looked uneasy, wondering what could be going on between the two.

Keeping an eye on their hosts Ardan returned the bow to Theodore , Ardan was starting to get a very, troubling vibe on top of the one from what they had just been presented with earlier "You noticed that they were damned fast to assume they weren't going to get the cooperation they wanted? With only one Head of State making it here they can't have expected to get agreements to go along with this. I know I wasn't authorized to sign onto anything of this sort, nor is Marshal Steiner over there. So the question that next comes to mind is do we stay and try to get more information or leave to consult with our goverments...assuming we can?"

Niel Avellar snorted.  "Yeah, this whole thing smells like one big set up.  Besides, when has anything good ever come from Terra?"

Theodore Kurita was more measured in his response.  "I concur with your assessment Champion Sortek.  I have only know Comstar to be measured, composed, and confident.  To see this has been quite unsettling.  As much as i can see the need to address this news, i would prefer a different venue.  We have heard much and have been out of communication with our respective Governments for a long time, it is high time that we return.  May i suggest that the DC and the FS meet in the coming month on Proserpina?  I know my father and your Prince have a long history, but there is also respect.  Considering this news, i think it wise for our realms to be in close contact and to start laying a foundation for possible military coordination."

Ian Kurita-Calderon quietly watched all that was going on. He walked with the Kuritan and other House entourages as they talked and expeditiously left the conference center.

Wow I am so in deep here, he thought, Father told me to listen and learn, but I do not even know where to start. I must communicate back to the Concordat as soon as possible. But first I hope that I can get my new wife, myself, and my new extended family out of here.

The group entered their perspective transport and started towards the space port. Draconis and Taurian bodyguards on high alert.

((Not to retcon you Val, but I was writing this as you posted :o

-also note that this would be happening in T5, since Turn 4 has effectively ended, and its just time to crunch numbers and do sheets))

As the various delegates were chatting and gathering their things, a robed ComStar adept entered the room. He did not speak a word, and his face was obscured by the heavy cowl of his robe. His arms were crossed across his chest, and he stood very stiffly, but he did not speak. The cowl moved, indicating he looked at each of the remaining ComStar personnel in the room, who silently and swiftly left the room.

The man continued to wait, despite several of the gathered representatives giving him curious looks. When finally all eyes were upon him, he spoke. His voice was not loud, but it was strong, and carried an air of authority.

"Delegates of the Great Houses. I am afraid that I have some very serious news. It seems that here and on Outreach, there have been terrorist attacks against ComStar facilities. Precentor Outreach has even been killed in the blast there. I know this news must make you anxious, but for the moment, I must request that you all return to your respective hotels and stay on the premesis untill the situation can be investigated. Also, unfortunately, I must inform you that the Spaceports are not currently considered safe, and that there will be no dropships leaving the surface of Terra until we are positive those responsible are not plotting further attacks against you. Some of my Adepts will escort you to your accommodations. Thank you for your understanding."

As he spoke, a group of similarly robed men(albeit with their faces visible) entered the room. They were all big men, averaging nearly 6' tall, and easily weighed over 100 kg each. Military backgrounds were evident in the unconscious march the individual groups walked in(6 men for each delegation). One the escorts had moved near their principal, the robed man nodded to the room and then left. The robed acolytes did make any attempt to rush the assembled delegates out of the room, but they continually told the delegates that the palace was no longer considered safe, and that they would be much better off in their secured hotels, where entry and exit were more easily controlled.

OOC:  DK did Lady Hinata Isu leave Terra prior to the "lock down"?

IC:

Once back at their quarters, the Kurita/Calderon/Avellar party readied and sent transmission to their jumpship.

The Jumpship captain checked the clock.  "Note the time the message from the Dragon Heir on Terra was received.  Send it on to Dieron,  Luthien, the ARAR, and the TC immediately.  Marked URGENT-SECRET."

The tech looked up from his screen "Captain, the HPG station is off line.  I'm not even able to log onto their system..."

OOC: I don't know. Was she there for the meeting? If so, then no she didn't, because Robes shows up basiclly right when the first person is about ready to leave the conference. Also, I don't know why you would make the assumption Theo hasn't been able to contact the jumpship. He was simply taken back to the hotel he was staying at. He hasn't been kidnapped or anything.

The cloak and dagger stuff was the sort of thing Ardan despised the most , and had for many years. A soldier at heart he preferred the open battlefield in the cockpit of his mech to this drek, and it was this sort of thing that had killed his best friend and Prince. The entire trip back to their guest accommodations he'd had to hold back the urge to do something violent and foolish towards his *escorts*

They'd always suspected Comstar's claimed neutrality had been a carefully maintained farce, that had slipped more and more since Waterly had taken over between her revealing the the innocent bunch of  tech worshiping monks had indeed their own army. Then the supplying of regiments with or SL era mechs to the Combine prior to 39, forcing the creation of the FRR, a shadow war against ROM infiltration of the FedCom and now this.

Back in his stateroom he waved one of his staff over "Well we may as well let the drop ship crew know the situation." he said casually "Have them relay the news to the jump ship as well and ask for an *update * on their status while your at it Jason?" The young officer nodded and promptly left have the simple, innocent message radioed to their ship at the space port.

At the nadir jump point sometime later that day aboard the AFFS jump ship that floated their her sails deployed since shortly after their arrival, her com officer replayed the message for the Captain. He didn't like the sound of this turn of events , and the word *update* made his expression grow tighter "Right...transcribe this and Fax it immediately then send the status report back."

HPGs are down. Not even a ping if you try accessing the system.

Also, I will have to talk to Hugin about Lady Isu, because I apparently completely missed that. However, it really depends on where she went. Did she simply return to the Draconis hotel rooms? Or did she attempt to leave the system? Her dropper wouldn't have been given clearance if so. Also, she would likely see smoke rising from the city(the HPG in Prauge was hit).

The HPGs are down too now?  Could we get a full update on the situation?  What are we allowed to do and what we aren't or can't do?  I'll have to rewrite my post again, but i'd rather do it just once more :-)

According to Altrak, Lady Isu was leaving the meeting and the planet.  He was afraid she might be trapped there and wanted at least one of the party to make their way off the planet.

As I said in my post when Robes came into the room: the HPGs on Outreach and Terra have been attacked(he didn't tell you how widespread the attacks were, just 'attacked'). Precentor Outreach was apparently killed in such an attack. ComStar has locked down the planet at some point prior to when Robes actually enters the room(he was ostensibly outside waiting for the meeting to break up before mentioning it). You don't have any further information than that: HPGs are down, planet is on lockdown. If jumpships are going to attempt to leave the system, then it will have to be dealt with in another way.

Lady Isu mentions leaving the meeting, but not the planet itself. As I know the timing of my own actions in relation to the meeting, I'd say that as she is leaving, or even when approaching the Spaceport, she is informed that the planet is in lockdown and nobody is cleared to even enter the spaceport at this time, and would be directed back to the Combine hotel rooms. If you'd like to dispute that, we can leave it to Hugin to decide if she is able to beat the ComStar lockdown and get to her dropper in time.

Okay, that makes sense for Lady Isu.

IC:
Neil wondered out loud "how did our hosts here know about the HPG going out on Outreach when the HPG on Terra is out too.  Did the Outreach attack happen that much earlier and they just conveniently skipped that bit of info?  Am i over thinking this because we're all stuck here playing tiddlywinks?"

Theodore paced, paused, and spoke "first a big invitation, then the Only 4 out of the 5 major powers show up, then the "lost" SLDF bit, then the request of half of all of our mech regiments, and now these "attacks" on the HPG stations on two planets and our lock down...  I'd say that this is not what i expected of our C* comrades.  The Terra system is locked down tighter than a Giant Ripter's jaws, how did terrorist even get near this system, let alone onto Terra?"

OOC: this would have taken place shortly after being escorted from the meeting.  I've meant to get this out early but have been busy / lazy with stuff I didn't have to get done.

Imperial Suite
Sacher Hotel
Vienna, Terra
Sol System

Thomas was disappointed in the outcome of the meeting, though not entirely surprised at the outcome.  Over the last centuries, barbarianism had been on the rise and it was only recently that civilization had started to make progress once more.  Thomas hoped he was doing his part in this struggle, but the pettiness and self-centered actions of several of his contemporaries, while not unexpected, were not helping.  Some people just couldn't look past their immediate wants and needs.  If the Primus viewed these "Clans" as a threat, then most likely they will be one down the line.  Comstar had always done him well in the past, and also done their part for civilization.  Unfortunately there wasn't much he could do with his country being threatened at the whims of Katrina Steiner.  If the war ended, things would be different.

Now I just have to convey that to the Primus, he mused to himself as he sat down to work on his correspondence.....

OOC:Thomas is interested in learning more / doing what he can to help Comstar.  The necessity of defending his people / realm are still foremost, but his ability to lend aid will go up drastically if the 5th SW ends.

This is to open up the option of dialog between Tommy boy and Comstar / Primus. (if you want it of course ;))

((You arn't prisoners in the hotels...per se :P You're free to roam the hotels, and there are adepts floating around on business, so feel free to initiatite dialouge with whomever. The ComStar personnel are generally quite polite, even if they dont seem to know much of whats going on.

Also, Altrak: could you give me who exactly came in with the Calderon scion? Like, family members and such.))

@ Rudd: Your peeps find an adept working with the hotel staff seeing after the guests needs.

"I don't know much myself m'lord. I know that there have been scattered reports of small arms fire in different parts of the city, and that the HPG station is about to start undergoing repairs. I think it will take untill the Primus is satisfied that those responsible on planet have been captured. Who can say in such matters?

Is there anything else I can do for you?"

The adept bowed.

"I will convey your request to Precentor Apollyon. He is in charge of the task force that is securing Terra against these terrorist assaults. He may not personally brief Lord Kurita, but he will surely be able to provide someone with more knowledge than myself on the topic."

Much as it galled him being stuck here Ardan had decided to play this silly game to the hilt, namely sending a barrage of inquiries to the Primus's and Precentor Marshal's offices. Time tables, logistics, joint training every aspect of the operation they'd proposed as well as how they proposed reforming a new Star League, how would they get the Periphery states to join, composition of the ruling council, representation etc, etc?

It was the time of night that assassins loved, and guards hated. All important persons were generally asleep, and only a handful of the best guards could manage to be fully alert. Of course, with the heir of the Dragon present, the Kuritan guards WERE that good. Luckily for them, the group of robed ComStar acolytes that came down the hallway towards the suit of rooms set aside for Ian Calderon-Kurita were not the sneaking assassins one fears at this time of night. The only curious thing about the group was the large, powerfully built man in the lead. His hood was large enough to hide his features, and the gold-trim of his red robes marked him out as likely an important member of the order. They came up to the guards and the red-robed man spoke in a low, powerful, but not impolite voice to the guards outside Ian's rooms.

"If you would please get Lord Calderon-Kurita, we have an important matter to discuss." The guard looked annoyed, but keyed his microphone to call the night supervisor of the guard detail, just incase.

Ian was woken by his guard, "There is a representative from ComStar here to see you."

"Alright give me a moment."

Florimel looked worried, he bent over and kissed her, "I will be right back. maybe it is a message from my father."

As he made his way out of the room; his personal body guard was there with a Periphery Marshal Guard and a Kuritan family guard. He smiled, this would be funny if the situation wasn't so tense.

Turning to his long time friend and guard, "Jason, please make sure Lord Kurita knows what is happening and have the staff bring Florimel some tea. I am pretty sure she is not going back to bed any time soon. I will meet the ComStar Representative in the south sitting room."

Ian got there first and watched as the guards took up position, everyone was on edge. He tried to make himself relax as he waited for his early morning guests...

"How polite of him, to let me know that he meets with ComStar, " said Theodore, who was sitting in another room when the message reached him. The Kurita was thinking about where to place the next shogi-stone. His opponent was one of his long time guards and servants. Then he set a stone and both man smiled.

The red robed man bowed slightly to Ian when he entered the room, and waited for the 4 other acolytes to filter into the room behind him. They stood back nearer the Kuritan guards in the room, but otherwise remained silent.

"Greetings Lord Calderon-Kurita. I apologize for waking you at such an early time. However, I must request that you and your wife, and any other persons from the Concordat please prepare to leave the building immediately. Before you ask, I have not been told the reason, only that it must be done."

As the red-robed man spoke, another activated a small device in his hand. It was impossible to see the action, as he simply clicked a button, but the device was wholly hidden within the folds of his robes. The handheld jammer would make the guards' radios useless, and filling them with enough static to render any conversation impossible to understand, though it wouldn't harm them in any way.

Ian's personal body guard placed one of his hand towards his ear and than looked around the room.  He started to reach under his coat and move towards his charge.

Since the Kuritan guards were busy eyeing up the ComStar Adepts it took them a second to notice him and they began to move...

As the red robed man frowned at Ian's bodyguard, one of the other robed acolytes turned his head and brought his own hand up to his ear. Before he could speak, the red robed man turned quickly and faced the Kuritan bodyguards.

"Get your Lord secure. There is trouble in the city. Someone has made an attempt on Morgan Hasek-Davion's life. The ComGuards are sounding a Red Alert." One of the ComStar adepts, a huge man, very nearly 2m tall and easily over 100kg, stepped into the hallway, and from his voluminous robes, he produced a large, multi-barrel semi-portable autocannon, and it was clear he was wearing a gyro-harness below his robes. He braced himself facing the direction of the main stairs and elevators, and spooled up his gun: there was little doubt that he would annihilate anything attempting to come down the hallway.

The red robed adept turned to see Ian's bodyguard with his weapon out, but he didn't even seem to flinch before saying to Ian, "We must ensure your safety. You and your man will come with me. Get your family. Your Kuritan bodyguards will be needed elsewhere I think..."

**at the same time, 2 floors up...**

A troop of ComStar adepts marched in formation into the hallway housing Lord Theodore Kurita. 1 of them approached the restive guards and told them what had happened.

"There has been an attempt on Lord Hasek-Davion's life. ComStar is placing the residences of the Great Houses on Red Alert. We suggest you attend to your master." At the end of the hallway, the 6 other ComStar members were setting up what looked like a support machine gun, and 2 had TK assault rifles and were watching the hallways feeding into the main one.

**15 minutes earlier, in the Davion-occupied hotel**

Over 2 dozen men in all black fatigues, wearing body armor, crept through the night. Several low ranking ComStar adepts had been killed with silenced pistols and wire garrotes. The men were silent, and their training marked them as an elite force. They communicated through minimal hand signals, and rigorous preparation. They moved silently through the hotel, avoiding the majority of the ComStar staff that had taken over the daily running of the hotel for the near future.

They traveled up the back stairwell to the level where the majority of the House Davion entourage was staying, actually a level below where Morgan Hasek-Davion was asleep at the moment. They opened the door silently and made their way through. Luck was not on their side however, and a Davion guard came out of a bathroom and saw them, with just enough time to sputter a warning into his radio before being splashed against the wall by the cough of silenced automatic weapons.

At nearly the same moment, the windows to the suite Morgan was staying in were blown inwards by prepared shaped charges. Flashbang grenades quickly followed, and the 6-man team that flew in through the exploding windows landed just after the disorienting grenades had left the guards inside dazed. They saw the room that housed the Davion official and moved in, but were pinned down by gunfire from the hallway: several of the Davion bodyguards outside heard the combined blast of shaped charge and flashbang, and had caught the interlopers without any cover, immediately cutting half of them down.

((Parm/Arv, feel free to throw some RP in there for this fight, but it isn't really intended to be more than an RP device, so don't feel it has to go anywhere specific))

***Zenith Jump Point***

While the assassination attempts occur on the planet, it was curious to note that the only Jumpships at the point were owned by ComStar, and the delegations of the various Houses. That soon changed as coordinated aerospace fighter strikes took out the jumpships belonging to the various houses, effectively cutting them off from any outside communication or even attempts to flee the planet short of hijacking a ComStar vessel.

(Just a reminder Ardan Sortek is on Terra, Morgan is on Outreach DK)

Years of military  life had made Ardan Sortek a rather light sleeper and the blasting of the window in the outer room sent him rolling out of bed with the gun he kept under his pillow. Either Comstar was done playing this charade or this was just another staged terrorist attack, which ever from the sound of it there was a gun fight going on in the next room.

Speaking of which while their comrades from the hallway distracted the attackers, dropping three of them the guards in the room still able to dove for cover and began to return fire. Bullets crisscrossed back and forth when the the bed room doors few open and the barrel of a service pistol swept the room and fired at the first intruder Ardan spotted as he peeked around the corner of the door frame.

Meanwhile out at the jump point alarms blared thru the FSN Adventurer as lasers and missiles tore into the fragile hull. On the bridge the Captain watched helplessly as his crew tried to fight back with the few weapons they had but knew it was hopeless. Watching as the Comstar fighters wheeled around again he punched the intercom "Sparks talk to me?!!!!"

<Message sent Sir and security protocol engaged!!> the ensign nearly screamed back over the din , there that was all they could do on that and with that the Captain slammed him palm down on the Abandon Ship alarm.

"Everyone to the escape pods NOW!!!!!!!" he yelled chasing his crew off the bridge, and praying the damned Robes weren't going to kill them evewn if they did manage to escape the ship?

((Oh oops! My bad :P))

The fighters made no move to attack the escape pods, and within 20 minutes, dropships were out recovering lifepods, and transporting them back to Terra.

The red robed adept turned to see Ian's bodyguard with his weapon out, but he didn't even seem to flinch before saying to Ian, "We must ensure your safety. You and your man will come with me. Get your family. Your Kuritan bodyguards will be needed elsewhere I think..."

Ian allowed his guard to lead the way as they went back to his room. Once there Taurian Guard and Periphery Marshals entered weapons drawn, holding everyone else out. They quickly and professionally cleared the area; than, Ian went in and gathered up his new family. Most of the Taurian staff were already close by and with in moments the rest hurried to the area. Most carried small arms, but the guards suited up in body armor and were issued automatic rifles.

They all awaited ComStar's next move.

The Kuritan bodyguards returned to the heir, reported and took their new assigned positions. The security net arround the Kuritans was now even more tighter and the air was so thick that it could be cut by a katana.

Theodore just nodded when the message reached him and he thought about what advantage ComStar would get, in case they just shoot Ian, or bring him to "security", then he moved the next shogi-stone, he sighed... it seemed Kuchiba will win this game.

When the red robed acolyte was satisfied that all of the Taurian personnel were present(checked against the planetary customs inspection of their entry documents), the adepts moved out, hustling the Taurians out of the building. They seemed to be in a rush, thought they gave no reasons for this. Curiously, once they had moved down 2 floors, there was no sign of any distress: no armed personnel, infact most people seemed idly confused by the sounds of gunfire. None however, stopped the party to ask, seeming to be all to quick to get out of the way.

Upon getting outside they were placed in a small motorcade of vehicles and quickly whisked off in the direction of the starport. The Taurians were stopped once at the entrance to the starport for a check of their identity, and then again at the foot of an Overlord dropship. There were other passengers, all robed ComStar personnel, boarding aswell. Another identity check(identity documents and facial recognition against their intake pictures), and the Taurians were taken aboard the vessel, which departed the planet for the drop point.

The situation back at the hotels however, was less pleasant. ComGuard ground forces stormed the hotel rooms housing the various dignitaries. The ComGuards engaged the various dignitaries guard entourages with orders to capture(or kill if nessecary to prevent escape) of the various VIP members of the Great Houses. Several elite ComStar ROM teams were also deployed in the effort to ensure success.

((Leaving to Hugin the ultimate fate of the characters involved, but they would not stop being hunted until every last VIP personality was killed or captured.))

"Move, move move, don't give them a inch of space. " Shooting could be heard from the japanese tea garden.
The Kuritan Bodyguard put up a hard fight, but was ultimatly loosing. No bravery could counter the sheer mass of intruders.

In the firefight a team of ComGuard stormed lady Hinata Isus room. The woman was wearing all white and it was this white clothing that stood in a strong contrast to the large blood stain that was on her front side. She must have done seppuku when the troops began to storm the tea garden. Behind her dead body, the flag of the Draconian Carritative Program was flying, unstained in pure white, with the black aesculap dragon on it. Then, a grenade rolled into the room, filling it with smoke, the lightning glance of sharp steel flew through it, cutting a head of. Firing and shooting continued.

Far more silent the scenery was from away. Then a explosion blew up a part of the building, one of the Kuritan guards must have detonated something. ComGuards advanced into to private chamber of Theodore, a Kuritan Bodyguard was blocking the way and was shot while he tried to throw another grenade. The explosion caught up the whole wing. When they entered the room burned bodys were found. Then, a third explosion at the other side of the building.

In the end, everybody was dead... corpse over corpse was lying in the building, it was a bloodbath. Not only what the ComGuards did to the Draconians, but also what the Draconians did unto themselves.

There were other passengers, all robed ComStar personnel, boarding aswell. Another identity check(identity documents and facial recognition against their intake pictures), and the Taurians were taken aboard the vessel, which departed the planet for the drop point.

The Taurian staff and guards quickly follows the lead of the ComStar escort. Weapons are drawn at all times pointing towards the supposed threats outside the group and slightly towards the Comstar saviors.  A few of the staff had left their paperwork in their room, one being Ian’s wife whom Comstar has many photos of, another an undersecretary of the Concordat, and two Pact Marshal that were more concerned with getting armored up than grabbing paperwork. After some tense moments and other Taurian guards threatening to shoot their way through; Ian and the Precentor are able to calm everyone and the group is cleared onward.

Once on board the Overlord Drop ship the team takes up position close to their charges and some try to get into the bridge control room. Again more tense moments, until Ian steps in and tells his teams to step down and just secure the area that the party is quartered.

As they burn towards the jump point Ian contacts the TCS Foxland, still waiting at the jump point. He informs them that they will allow the ComStar Dropship to dock. He asks the ComGuards to assist his guards in securing the jumpship, while not replacing the crew. Times are hectic and right now who knows where the next terrorist will spring up.

As the count down starts to the Jump; Ian turns to the Precentor in charge,  “Precentor, I would like to know if it possible if some of your men to supplement my guard as we travel back to my home. I would believe my father would like a firsthand report. As for speaking to my father, is there a way we can clandestinely send a message to my father without the leadership of the world that we jump to not knowing whom is aboard this vessel?  “

As the Precentor formulates his reply the ship leaves Terra and the believed terror attacks behind.

(Remember that Ian does not know what is going on in other places. He thinks ComStar helped save him and his wife from what he was told was terror attacks on Terra.)
