Noob Questions

Hey guys, didn't see a thread like this so I made one, apologies if I missed one or something.  Anyway, I was wanting to know some things before I put in an official signup request.  While I'd like to do St. Ives, I don't think it's wise for me to jump straight into a Faction Head job.  I'd probaby be ibterested in the FS, FWL, or FRR, maybe also the LC.  I see the rosters, but that's only half the story, who does what in the existing factions?  For example, I'm a longtime FS fan, but have generally been a Capellan March guy.  Is Morgan taken?  What about, again for example, the Davion Assault Guards (a favorite unit of mine)?  What Marik provinces could I have a shot at?  And so on.  I'll go where needed, but before I apply I'd like to know what I'd be doing in any given faction.  I learned in the army to never volunteer for anything until you know details.


I assume periphery factions are off limits, and mercs are done by whatever faction they're working for atm?  Like St. Ives, I'dd likely not jump straight into a periphery faction anyway, but it's worth asking about.  I might be interestd in running a merc unit and changing factions with the changing of contracts, if that an be done.

He he he, Just messing around. Capellans are well represented right now.  If your just joining a faction, all the ones you said would do well to have you. Not sure about St. Ives. They’re already pretty small and well represented. Last I heard, we were down one DC Faction Head right now, but last thing you’ll want to do is jump into the grinder to be the FC punching bag… It is 3039 after all, even though we haven’t seen a war yet, it’s bound to happen eventually

DC and LC are probably most in need of players at the moment. DC has no one as far as I can tell, and the LC has lost one player and has a largely absentee faction head.

Not that we wouldn't love to have you in the Fed Suns (and right now only Hanse Davion and Olivia Fenlon are claimed of the Canon personalities) but honestly it looks like we're in better shape than most factions.

Hmm, I'd been looking at the Signup & Registration thread's 2nd post, which suggested the Compact was GM run, and the Combine had three players.  I really don't want to step straight into a head job, so unless someone else was moving to the DC and I could work under them, I want no part of it.  Even as an assistant, the DC is probably the faction I've had the least interest in traditionally, so I'd literally rather go anywhere else.

Ditto from me, AK.  We would love to have you in the Suns.  But in the interests of the game, you joining the Commonwealth (or even the FWL as they are really quite as well), would be the better option.  Especially as from your posts, your adamant in regards your position on he Dracs.

The SIC only has one player at the moment, so that could be another option, and would give Absalom someone to bounce ideas off.  I might even give you an AFFS RCT to play with

I have not come to elicit support for the Free Rasalhague Republic since we are booked solid. Until either the DC, LC, or a mysterious new faction decides to roll over us, I'll be preparing my faction for the worst while putting a smile on, but it doesn't hurt to try other factions every once and awhile just saying, Warrior. Now back to prepare for Ragnarok.

Still having some personal issues I am dealing with which means I have some severe bouts of depression. Not conducive to being able to run a faction single-handed.

My job has gotten to the point of being unbearable so my job search has become frantic.

So, in short, I want to play. I just can not do the FH thing without assistance. I can help someone who does want the job. No can do solo though.

Wait if the Dragon's asleep at current production levels of a about a regiment of mechs in half a year, that's means that the KungsArme can outnumber the Combine if it stays at about 99 mech regiment(3048 canon number) in about 89 real life years. Well, there goes my plans for conquering Luthein by Christmas.

was not the first time the cat has tripped me, or attempted to attack my ankle as I walk by, or various other things he does that usually end up with me being pissed at him and having bruised or twisted something. it's an on going struggle.
